SECTION FOUR - SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED, Adjacent to Glanafon, Llanfairfechan
Rep No Name People Type
14423 Cyngor Tref Llanfairfechan Town Council (Mrs Einir Shepherd) [2076] 1 Support
Summary Whilst it is noted by members of the Town Council that future housing provision does need to be consdered and safeguarded, there are no objections to the
land at Glanafon being considered for residenetial devlopment as this land is within the settlement limits and on previously devloped land which is not sited
within a prominent location.
13418 Mrs Vanesa L Dye [3809] 1 Object
Summary As a resident of Llanfairfechan I am concerned about the potential impact of 250 additional houses.
This will put further pressure on already congested main roads making access for parking particularly difficult. Other concerns I have centre of how the local
Health centre/doctors surgery will cope with the influx of patients. Furthermore there will be a need to extend education, policing and fire resources.
I am also worried about the use of Green Belt land for 2 of the proposed sites. Once green belt land becomes available for building there are no longer any
boundaries.
Change Sought: Remove the housing allocation adjacent to Glanafon, Llanfairfechan.
13530 Watkin Jones Homes (Mr Goronwy Owen) [879] 1 Object
Summary Remove this allocated housing site from the list of housing sites within the plan as it is uncertain whether the site is deliverable within the plan period due to
the Agricultural Tenancy Claim.
The site is not available now and is unlikely to become available within the plan period.
This site area also includes a number of good specimen trees and these should be protected.
Change Sought: Policy HOU/1 Section 1A - Remove this allocated housing site from the list of Urban Development Strategy Area sites within the plan.
14086 Mr Lloyd Jones [4169] 1 Object
Summary I object on the following grounds:
The town is already struggling to cope with rapid growth and building yet more houses would destroy its unique character.
Traffic increase.
Destruction of the coastline's beauty.
Lack of jobs.
Eradication of the Welsh language.
Plenty of empty homes.
Change Sought: Delete site.
14164 Mr Liam Jones [4279] 1 Object
Summary Remove this allocated housing site from the list of sites within the plan as it is uncertain whether the site is deliverable within the plan period due to the
This site is not available now and is unlikely to become available within the plan period.
This site area also includes a number of good specimen trees and these should be protected.
