SECTION FOUR - SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED, Off Ysguborwen Road, Dwygyfylchi
Rep No Name People Type
14149 Ms Lynda Bleasdale [4272] 1 Object
Summary I object on the following grounds:
The plan is based on flawed assumptions of an increase in population. The number of houses needed has been grossly overestimated by the Welsh
Assembly.
Traffic congestion, the roads and narrow and quite hazardous.
Local Economy - we fear that the quaint village would be spoilt, leaving very few open aspects. The village is popular with tourists, the local economy relies
and depends on it and this gives jobs to local people.
Infrastructure - the local school cannot accommodate an increase in numbers.
20448 Ms Susan Lewis [4373] 1 Object
Summary I object as follows:
The case for housing need within the local settlements has not been made.
The site is a Landscape Conservation Area, Green Barrier and represents development outside the existing settlement.
It is prime agricultural land.
Development will detract from its distinctive rural coastal character.
Will add load to the already problematic sewage system.
It forever destroys a greenfield site and green barrier and causes a precedent for further development of the green barrier and constitutes to the coalescence
of Dwygyfylchi and Penmaenmawr.
No proportional additional employment is planned.
The residents of Town Council have not been consulted.
14099 Ms Rachel Dagtekin [4180] 1 Object
Summary I also hear that you are wanting to built more houses in dewgifylchi, i personally feel that this is unacceptable and unfair on the local people that live in the
village.
14368 Mrs R E Jones [4390] 1 Object
Summary I object as follows:
Currently protected by landscape preservation order - designated as offical green barriers and providing a significant green wedge between local communities.
Overdevelopment and the associated implications for increased traffic and noise pollution.
Situated on the edge of the Snowdonia Nationsal Park, Dwygyfylchi is recognised as an area of outstanding local beauty and as such deserves our respect
and protection.
13983 Ms Mary Halliwell [4115] 1 Object
Summary I am writing to protest against the propsoed new housing development on the gounds that:
a) It would be deterimental to the village. It would alter the character of the village. There would be a loss of amenities and an impact on social cohesion. The
value of existing properties would go down.
b) It is unnecessary. It has not been demonstrated that there is a need for more houses. There are several brownfield sites which could be used.
More appropriate use could be made of the land i.e. market garden. I would support the suggested idea of allotments.
Change Sought: Use the land for an alternative use i.e. Market Garden/Allotments
14461 Ms Sandra Allen [4451] 1 Object
Summary I strongly object to and protest against the proposed LDP for Dwygyfylchi and any others involving green belt, recreational and agricultural land (in short
supply in this area and strongly in need of protection).
Prime agricultual land
Green wedge
Access, water supply, sewage and flooding
Road hazards and safety issues
The peace, quiet and privacy of local residents would be seriously compromised.
14371 Ms Hilary Moore [4404] 1 Object
Summary I wish to object on the following grounds:
Site 57 - I am led to believe the owner of this site has informed CBCC that this is not for sale. I understand that this site is therefore to be withdrawn.
Site 56 - I understand this land was given to Penmaenmawr Town Council by a local farmer with the intention that it should house a village hall. I should like
clarification how CBCC have taken ownership of this plot.
Public consultation - lack of publicity, the time of year chosen with the closing date immediately following a bank holiday.
