SECTION FOUR - SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED, Off Ysguborwen Road, Dwygyfylchi
Rep No Name People Type
21528 Ms Mary Armstrong [5094] 1 Object
Summary I object as follows:
The case for housing need within the local settlements has not been made.
The site is a Landscape Conservation Area, Green Barrier and represents development outside the existing settlement.
It is prime agricultural land.
Development will detract from its distinctive rural coastal character.
Will add load to the already problematic sewage system.
It forever destroys a greenfield site and green barrier and causes a precedent for further development of the green barrier and constitutes to the coalescence
of Dwygyfylchi and Penmaenmawr.
No proportional additional employment is planned.
The residents of Town Council have not been consulted.
13355 D Roberts [3773] 1 Object
Summary I object to the housing allocation at Ysguborwen Road.
The building of houses here will take away my light, privacy and stillness. This area is only small and has little access for the amount of traffic to
accommodate the home owners.
The existing houses which border the field are devastated to think that their properties will be depreciated.
Apart from this the council will have to provide more transport, schools, waste/recycling, road maintenance and more employment.
Change Sought: Remove the housing allocation at Ysgorborwen Road.
13367 Mrs B Owen [3785] 1 Object
Summary I object to the housing allocation at Ysguborwen Road.
The green areas in Dwygyfylchi are there to support the environment and the space that is needed for such a small village.
The school is full to capacity and there is very little work to be found in this area.
A vast amount of houses means more problems with the small roads, schools, parking, pollution, cleansing/waste department and much more.
Please take into consideration the village life and the maintenance problems that heavy traffic and more people can cause.
Change Sought: Remove the housing allocation from Ysguborwen Road, Dwygyfylchi.
14113 Penmaenmawr Town Council (Cllr Lesley Cockings) [4201] 1 Object
Summary Oustide the Settlement Boundary, constitutes loss of existing greenfield land.
Will add load to an already problematic sewage system
There is an increasing risk of flooding.
There is no sound plan for additional employment.
No justification has been made for this housing need in the settlement.
Impacts on a High Quality Landscape Area, Open Countryside, and on Views and Local Character.
Conwy Council has not consulted residents or Town.
The LDP is flawed in that it contains planning policies aspiring to high ideals which it claims to meet, but these are expounded as generalisations which are
then often contradicted.
