Policy MWS/3 Safeguarding Hard Rock Reserves
Rep No Name People Type
852 Hanson Aggregates (A.P Bower) [1017] 1 Support
Summary 2. Policy MWS/3 - Safeguarding Hard Rock Reserves
We support policy MWS/3 and the Council's recognition of the need to safeguard reserves, processing and transport facilities from other forms of
development.
1580 Countryside Council for Wales (Mr Richard Ninnes) [1948]
1 Object
Summary CCW notes the recognition of environmental constraints at identified sites, and recommends that the policy is cross-referenced to Policy NTE/1 and Policy
NTE/4, to clarify that development will be subject to meeting those provisions.
Change Sought: Policy MSW/3 is cross-referenced to Policy NTE/1 and Policy NTE/4, to clarify that development will be subject to meeting those provisions.
1465 Denbighshire County Council - Planning Policy (Martha Savage) [1843] 1 Object
Summary The LDP appears to have safeguarded existing hard rock mineral reserves rather than seeking to identify mineral deposits that should be safeguarded. There
is no background paper to identify the approach taken with respect to safeguarding. Further clarification on the approach taken is necessary to provide further
comment.
Change Sought: Further clarification on the approach taken is necessary to provide further comment.
1765 Mineral Products Association ltd (Mr Andrew Bromley) [2000] 1 Object
Summary Policy MWS/3 - The policy must be extended to safeguard hard rock resources as well as reserves in accordance with national policy (MPPW, Para.13) and
recommendations in the North Wales RTS (Page 75).
Change Sought: The policy must be extended to safeguard hard rock resources as well as reserves in accordance with national policy (MPPW, Para.13) and
recommendations in the North Wales RTS (Page 75).
7235 Welsh Assembly Government (Mr Mark Newey) [2176] 1 Object
Summary Paragraph 4.258 related to safeguarding rock quarries doesn't accord with NPP- seeks to maintain access to appropriate resources. Plan should state where
resources lie outside existing permissions and safeguarded areas. Better quality resources should be distinguished on the basis of evidence. Paragraph
4.258 mentions 'significant' sand/gravel resources (which needs defining) and then justify the lack of safeguarding for other resources. The LDP should set
out intentions respecting prohibition notices and strategy for future use of dormant minerals- stated in paragraph 19 of MPPW. The proposals map doesn't
indicate safeguarding for the jetty at Raynes as set out in policy MWS/3.
Change Sought: The LDP should state where resources lie outside the existing permissions and safeguarded areas. Better quality resources should be distinguished on the
basis of evidence. 'significance' should be defined and then justify why there is a lack of safeguarding for other sand a gravel resources present with the
CCBC's area. The LDP should set out intentions in respect of prohibition notices and a strategy for future use of any dormant mineral sites. The proposals
maps should indicate safeguarding for the jetty at Raynes
