Policy HOU/1 Meeting The Housing Needs, Glyn Farm, Colwyn Bay
Rep No Name People Type
979
Mr Gordon Roberts [345]
1 Object
Summary No consideration given to volume of traffic ie. 144 houses means at least 300 extra cars using an already over used access road.
Present drainage system already overloaded.
Extra volume of traffic would be detrimental to emergency services.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm Site from plan
shown in the attached location plan.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm from plan
1001 Mr Trevor Roebuck [526]
1 Object
Summary Objection on the grounds that land surface drainage is problematic, there is limited road access, badger setts are on the site, footpaths are compromised.
Building on farmland in this locality would destroy the beauty and peace of the valley, have serious consequence for the environment, raise preservation and
conservation issues, destroy amenities/leisure and tourism facilities.
We believe the concept of building at Glyn Farm and along the Nant y Grlyn Valley to be flawed, inappropriate, misguided and incomprehensible. It sets an
alarming precedent about building in open countryside.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm Site from plan
Summary Sites 335, 347 and 353 should be removed from the LDP. This area is green wedge/belt. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
It has inadequate road infrastructure and inadequeate local amenities et schools, hospital, shops, and GP surgery.
245 Cllr Abdul Khan [523] 1 Object
Summary Objection on grounds that Glyn Farm Site was not proposed in pre deposit consultation. Proposal of alternative brownfield site at Dinerth Road and other
sites which will be released as a result of the school modernisation programme.
Site has already been affected by floods and 144 houses will increase flood risk, road leading from Glyn Avenue is very narrow and dangerous and safety
concerns for pedestrians.
Change Sought: Removal of Glyn Farm site and replace with alternative brownfield sites such a s Dinerth Road and sites released as a result of the school modernisation
programme.
244 Miss Morgan Ditchburn [522] 1 Object
Summary Developing at Glyn Farm seems a very unsound idea. The one road leading to the area is already too busy and hazardous. Also to add a large 144 house
estate would over populate the area beyond what it can cope with, with regards to community, sewers, drains, traffic etc.
Building work would disrupt our home life as our house is right next to the proposed site. Noise, dirt, dust would affect us daily, plus there would be an
intrusion on our privacy. I do not want the welfare of my children compromised.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm from the LDP
1034 Mr Julian Anderson [1061]
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm Site from plan.
117
Mr David Shore [187]
1 Object
Summary Remove Glyn Farm allocation as a proposed development of 144 houses which represents a detrimental impact on the highway, drainage, safety of
pedestrians and a possible flood issue.
Change Sought: Removal of Glyn Farm Site from plan
118 Mr Stephen Brown [188] 1 Object
Summary Proposed development of 144 houses is inappropriate. Will impact on traffic, pedestrian safety and loss of green space.
Drainage and flooding a serious consideration.
Change Sought: Removal of Glyn Farm site from plan
