4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED
Rep No Name People Type
17981 Mr D Smith [2498] 1 Object
Summary We consider the scale of growth excessive and unjustified to meet the needs of the Town and the LDP lacks a robust and credible evidence to support it, fails
to demonstrate whether the community has or is capable of delivering the necessary infrastructure and house building capacity to support growth (particularly
in combination with the impacts of development proposed in Bodelwyddan) and would have impact on the culture of the Town (including the Welsh language).
Change Sought: Greater emphasis should be placed on a lower level of growth that supports existing community infrastructure and natural population change.
19975 Mr Thomas Ronald Wade [1203] 1 Object
Summary We consider the scale of growth excessive and unjustified to meet the needs of the Town and the LDP lacks a robust and credible evidence to support it, fails
to demonstrate whether the community has or is capable of delivering the necessary infrastructure and house building capacity to support growth (particularly
in combination with the impacts of development proposed in Bodelwyddan) and would have impact on the culture of the Town (including the Welsh language.
Change Sought: Greater emphasis should be placed on a lower level of growth that supports existing community infrastructure and natural population change.
19176 Macbryde Homes Ltd [2074] 1 Object
Summary The Council's figures of between 5500 and 6800 dwelling over the plan period are unrealistically low, will not deliver required levels of open market or
affordable housing and will result in a decline in labour force to the detreiment of the economic prosperity of the County.
Change Sought: Part 1 of Policy HOU/1 should be amended to read:
Over the period 2007/2022, CCBC will plan, monitor and review the delivery of 7900 new dwellings (an average annual rate of 527 new dwellings) inclusive of
completions, commitments, windfalls and new allocations and a contingency level of up to approximately 9000 dwellings (1,100 dwellings).
19177 Macbryde Homes Ltd [2074] 1 Object
Summary We have made separate representations in relation to the housing land supply, needs and levels of growth suggest in the Plan. The conclusion of these
representations is that without additional housing provision the plan is unsound and there is a considerable shortfall in housing land supply to meet the needs
identified by the evidence.
The allocation of the site at Peulwys Farm, Peulwys Lane, Old Colwyn will address this.
Change Sought: The allocation of the site at Peulwys Farm, Peulwys Lane, Old Colwyn
19386 Mr Richard Waters [1041] 1 Object
Summary Abergele Area
The allocation of 870 dwellings is excessive. The exisitng commitments/windfall sites have been understated by at least 100 dwellings. More could be done to
reduce the number of empty dwellings.
Reasons for objection:
1. Welsh language and culture
a. Sustainability
b. Conflict with national policy
c. Conflict with the Spatial Plan
d. Conflict with the Community Strategy
e. Monitoring
2. Loss of outstanding countryside
3. Transport problems
Change Sought: Revise the housing growth level for Abergele.
22608 Ainscough Strategic Land. (Mr Nigel McGurk) [2073] 1 Object
Summary The representation seeks to promote the strategic designation of the Former Aluminium Factory Site, Dolgarrog to a "Strategic Leisure led Mixed-use
Economic Development site".
Change Sought: Change the strategic designation of the Former Aluminium Factory Site, Dolgarrog to a "Strategic Leisure led Mixed-use Economic Development site".
14081
Amended Policy wording as detailed in the attached document.
Llanrwst Town Council (Ms Gwenda M Jones) [2168] 1 Object
Summary The Town Council question that there is a need for 150 new houses to meet the local needs in Llanrwst.
There are many empty properties in Llanrwst which local people cannot afford to buy or rent.
Other points which must be kept in mind are that
* The Sewerage Plant is too small for the needs of the town at the present.
* The Water pressure is low in the town.
* Building these houses would take away the few green spaces which we have left in the town.
Change Sought: Revise the housing figure for Llanrwst.
