SECTION FOUR - SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED, Nant-y-Gamar Road
Rep No Name People Type
14255 Mr J MacFarlane [4388] 1 Object
Summary I object on the following grounds:
Lack of Public Consultation
Green Wedge - this is the first step in merging Craig-y-Don with Craigside.
Quality Agricultural Land - protected from development by PPW 2.8(1)
Farm Viability - the farm's viability has not been tested in accordance with TAN6W.
Summary I object on the following grounds:
Quality Agricultural Land - protected from development by PPW 2.8(1)
Farm Viability - the farm's viability has not been tested in accordance with TAN6W.
Officers are correct to point out that the sewer network, not to mention traffic movement along Nant-y-Gamar Road would also be negatively impacted by
further development.
A mere four years ago the most senior officer is on record as committing the authority to resisting any further residential development on this site.
13908 Mr & Mrs G & E Bellamy [4079] 1 Object
Summary I strongly object to developers destroying one of the best assets Llandudno has. For over sixty years Bodafon Fields has been filmed and recorded, every
event has been included. To think that this could be destroyed by greedy developers covering the area with houses, hotels, a business park and apartments
etc.
These developers have no concern at all for one of the best assets of Llandudno. They have one purpose only, money making schemes for their own benefit.
The inspector and the QC stated that the fields should remain a green wedge and not be destroyed by greedy developers.
13903 Mr Ian D Finney [4076] 1 Object
Summary I object to the contingency housing allocation at Nant-y-Gamar Road.
I object on the following grounds:
Green Wedge - this is the first step in merging Craig-y-Don with Craigside.
Traffic Congestion - current heavy peak traffic at Ysgol Gogarth and the Health Authority.
Quality Agricultural Land - protected from development by PPW 2.8(1)
There has not been enough time for consultation.
The sewerage system is overloaded.
Detrimental effect on tourism.
13902 P T Webster [4075] 1 Object
Summary This housing proposal adds to the previous loss of part of Bodafon Fields for Gogarth School. The proposal is a further step towards merging Craig y Don
with Craigside and creating a precedent for future development. The proposal is contrary to the Apeal Inspector's stated conclusions in 1988 and the Planning
Director's report May 2006 that the Authority would resist any housing on Bodafon Fields.
If in the future Bodafon Fields are developed for housing a feature that delineates Llandudo would be lost.
Farming or other use, with enhancement of the landscape, would benefit the town.
13900 Mr Frank Bradfield [4073] 1 Object
Summary I object to the contingency housing allocation at Nant-y-Gamar Road.
It has not been prepared in accordance with the CIS and the LDP is therefore unsound.
Farm Viability - the farm's viability has not been tested in accordance with TAN6W.
13899 Mrs Helen Jones [4072] 1 Object
Summary I have always considered Llandudno as the Queen of Welsh resorts. It is a beautiful town relying on tourism as its only true industry.
What makes Llandudno stand out from the crowd? Its beautiful promenade, the Great and Little Orme and its wedge of green fields.
I am not even going to start listing the problems this proposed development would cause, only to ask for a bit of common sense to keep these fields green.
We do not want to follow other resorts who are now regretting over-developing their areas of green fields.
13898 Mr R G de Figueiredo [4071] 1 Object
Summary I object on the following grounds:
Green Wedge - this is the first step in merging Craig-y-Don with Craigside.
Traffic Congestion - current heavy peak traffic at Ysgol Gogarth and the Health Authority.
Quality Agricultural Land - protected from development by PPW 2.8(1)
Farm Viability - the farm's viability has not been tested in accordance with TAN6W.
A valuable amenity for both the people of Llandudno and the tourists.
Was previously protected by Conwy District Plan 1982 and the Gwynedd Structure Plan.
