Summary We contacted you regarding a planning application when it was first submitted in 2006. However, the badger community that used the area proposed for
development for foraging has expanded since then. A recent survey by our Sett Recorder revealed one new sett to the south of the site and the setts already
registered in our lists were flourishing.
If this site is developed the setts that depend on the area for foraging will suffer. They can't go to the south east or the west because there are existing setts
there and they would be repulsed by the existing badger family.
Change Sought: Delete the housing allocation.

Summary Plan unsound as it will not produce 6800 dwellings due to-
1.Limited number of new sites expected to produce and sell a high numbers of dwellings. Not realistic.
2. Overdependency on windfall sites,
3. Dependency on purchase of empty dwellings.
The allocation of contingency housing sites at the present time will assist in attaining the housing target.
The contingency housing sites be allocated for housing now to ensure 6800 new dwellings by 2020.

new dwellings by 2022.

This is overdevelopment and does not have regard to village facilities.
There has already been substantial development in Llysfaen in the last 15 years.
The village has limited infrastructure and narrow roads and the scale of proposed development is contrary to the strategy of the plan.
Do no let over development spoil Llysfen, a Tier 1 village.

We object as follows:
Overdevelopment of Tier 1 Main Village
Substantial erosion of the green buffer zone
It will infringe on the SSSI on the Marian
The site is on a steep slope
The infrastructure in inadequate
Very close to a working quarry
Badger setts have been found.
Overdevelopment with regard to village facilities, shops, schools, access to doctor, main gas ends at Peulwys.
Drainage is inadquate for the extra load on the sewers.
Issues with Radon Gas from underlying limestone rock.
Delete site.

Summary Road links to the village are poor.
There are parking problems.
This site will be accessed from a narrow road following a blind bend posing a further danger to pedestrians and road users.
Inadequate facilities in village to cope with more residents.
The village is losing it's character and becoming an urban sprall.
Further loss of green spaces makes us all poorer.

Summary At a public meeting at Llysfaen on 12 April, 2011,attended by some 300 people, it was clear that there was considerable opposition to the scale of the
proposed development of this site.
Housing development of the density proposed density would detrimentally affect the character of the village.
The plan does not take account of or show how necessary infrastructure to serve a significantly enlarged population will be delivered.
The County Council has not consulted adequately on the proposals; it has failed to explain very complex processes to lay members of the public.
