4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED
Rep No Name People Type
18564 Mrs Jean Jones [4326] 1 Object
Summary We consider the scale of growth excessive and unjustified to meet the needs of the Town and the LDP lacks a robust and credible evidence to support it, fails
to demonstrate whether the community has or is capable of delivering the necessary infrastructure and house building capacity to support growth (particularly
in combination with the impacts of development proposed in Bodelwyddan) and would have impact on the culture of the Town (including the Welsh language).
Change Sought: Greater emphasis should be placed on a lower level of growth that supports existing community infrastructure and natural population change.
18575 Ms Christine Ryder [4328] 1 Object
19168 Redrow (Ms Victoria Murray) [4513] 1 Object
Summary The Policy fails to meet an appropriate level of housing land supply. This is due to inadequate housing land allocation provision compunded by an unrealistic
and inappropriate assumption regarding the density to be applied to new development.
Change Sought: Additional housing land allocation should be made.
21973 Mr & Mrs C H Baines [4125] 1 Object
Summary I object to the identification in principle as opportunities for housing sites 58, 329 and 330, using prime farmland/recreational land for c30 houses either as
windfall sites or as rural exception sites.
Raising the profile of these sites, whilst keeping them under the radar, flags to developers the willingness of CC to develop them.
These sites are Landscape Conservation Areas in the Gwynedd Structure Plan, Green Barriers in Conwy UDP and represent development outside the
settlement area. They are prime agricultural land and constitute a loss of existing greenfield land.
There is no evidence of housing need in this settlement.
Change Sought: Delete sites 58, 329 and 330.
Change Sought: Greater emphasis should be placed on a lower level of growth that supports existing community infrastructure and natural population change.
14174 Ms Angela Turley [4285] 3 Object
Summary The established need for 6,800 houses is too ambitious for a county of our size to absorb. Travel to work time and cost are existing barriers to low wage
employment being sustainable and affordable for existing unemployed residents. There is no significant employment development opportunities proposed
within the LDP to meet existing need. Without this and with in-migration to take up new houses, total unemployment levels will soar and potentially the long
term unemployed will be further disadvantaged. There are no proposals to upgrade the highways infrastructure to accommodate such high inward migration.
Change Sought: Reduce housing level.
20031 Ms Mary Halliwell [4115] 1 Object
