SECTION FOUR - SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED, Ysgol Cynfran, Llysfaen
Rep No Name People Type
13697 Mr Michael Roberts [3984] 1 Object
Summary Totally unsuitable access proposed adjacent to school.
Site not suitable for develpment having regard to gradient and will create substantial overlooking.
Site isolated from Dolwen Road as immediately adjacent site not allocated.
No footpath connection between historic centre of village and proposed allocation.
Greenfield site outside existing settlement.
Change Sought: Delete site
14030 Mrs Norah Wyn Walters [4143] 1 Object
Summary the road surrouding the propsed site are far to narrow to accommodate the extra traffic.
A public footpath runs alongside & behind the school which would have to be crossed to build a new road for access/exit site. There are no amenities ie.
mains, drainage and gas etc.
The school (local) not capable of accommodating any extra children.
Change Sought: Deletion of site
14027 Miss Leah Towlson [4142] 1 Object
Summary Llysfaen has unsufficient facilities for a small village. New houses have been built over recent years that have resulted in busier roads and over crowding in
the local school. Ysgol Cynfran was undersized over 20 years ago when I attended when it was first built. Green space is now at a premium in the village.
Many of the roads don't have pavements making it unsafe to walk along.
Change Sought: Deletion of site
13611 Mrs Susan Jones [3941] 1 Object
Summary School is not big enough to accomodate more children.
The existing road network is already udner pressure from existing residents and could not cope with extra usage from more houses being built.
Pentregwyddel Road is too narrow for extra volume of traffic.
The poposed site would have a huge impact on the historic centre of the village resulting in the character of the village being lost.
Finally Llysfaen already has its share of affordable housing and other sites throughout the County should be sought.
Change Sought: Delete Site
14013 Miss Sarah Graham [4126] 1 Object
Summary Allocations amount to over development of the village. Already substantial development of core of village in the last 15years.
Large proportion of overall housing allocation in plan is focused in Llysfaen a Tier 1 village.
Site is isolated from Dolwen Road as immediately adjacent the site is not allowed.
Totally unsuitable access proposed adjacent to school.
Change Sought: Deletion of site
13701 Mrs Joan Morris [3987] 1 Object
Summary The proposed development is too close to the school.
The access would lead to increased traffic on Dolwen Road which would put the children attending the school in danger.
The school could not accommodate anymore pupils.
Change Sought: Delete site
14412 Mr & Mrs Fred & Pauline Sumners [4431] 1 Object
Summary We object on the following grounds:
1. Important Historic Village.
2. Unsuitable road structure and many roads have no pavements.
3. Water table not able to support more houses.
4. School access is not good.
5. Site unstable due to working quarry, ground moves when blasting.
6. Many new modern houses unsold.
7. Nothing here to attract young people, work/enterntainment
8. Local people cannot afford to buy, we would be surrounded by commuters or famililes that no other council desires to have.
Change Sought: Delete site
13981 Mrs Sara Trow [4114] 1 Object
Summary I believe the over development of the village is causing an over populated village, which now is lacking in amenities. This will cause unsuitable access to and
from school, which is a hazard for our children who make their own way each day. The lack of pavement is a great concern at present along with the
traditional narrow roads.
Change Sought: Deletion of site
14024 Mr William Graham [4131] 1 Object
Summary Totally unsuitable access proposed adjacent to school.
Site isolated from Dolwen Road immediately adjacent site not allocated.
Large proportion of overall of housing allocation in the plan is focused in Llysfaen a Tier 1 village.
No footpath connections between historic centre of village and proposed allocation.
Site not suitable for development having regard to gradiant and will create substantial over looking.
Greenfield site outside the existing settlement.
Change Sought: Deletion of site.
13713 Mrs Dilys Simonds [3993] 1 Object
Summary I object to the possibility of housing near the school. Access to these houses would be adjacent to the school, we already have problems with parking. Site is
isolated from Dolwen Road as immediately adjacent site is not allocated.
Change Sought: Delete site
13912 Mr Charles Wood [4081] 1 Object
Summary Deletion of site.
Site opposite an existing school with no footpath access from the site.
The existing road will be unable to cope with the extra traffic.
It is a Greenfield site at the centre of a historic site in the middle of the village.
LDP is not sound with this site included.
Change Sought: Deletion of site
13992 Mr Glen Winterbottom [4117] 1 Object
Summary Regarding the development of the site (site 160 Map3) this is most unsuitable as this access proposed is adjacent to the school. This area has very narrow
roads with no pavement aid, the school already has problems with the parking by parents collecting children. No way can this area cope with extra cars
(which more houses would bring). I object to this land being built on as I feel that the safety of the children come first, and should be deleted from the LDP.
Change Sought: Deletion of site
