Verification: The Case Comments section must<br />

An ABCDM 228, Applicant’s Authorization for<br />

Release <strong>of</strong> Information, (an out <strong>of</strong> drawer form)<br />

must be signed by the individual authorizing contact<br />

with the potential employer. If the individual refuses<br />

to sign the ABCDM 228, aid to first paycheck<br />

cannot be issued.<br />

Once an individual’s employability status changes<br />

to E:<br />

GROW will automatically schedule an<br />

orientation/appraisal appointment for the<br />

individual, and<br />

All employable regulations apply.<br />

Can employable individuals be temporarily<br />

exempt from employable requirements?<br />

Yes, employable individuals may be temporarily<br />

exempt from employable requirements for 30 days if<br />

one <strong>of</strong> the following criteria is met. LEADER stops<br />

the clock while an individual is temporarily exempt.<br />

What are the criteria for a temporary<br />

exemption?<br />

Individuals may be exempt from employable<br />

requirements for up to 30 days in any <strong>of</strong> the<br />

following situations:<br />

Individuals being referred for NSA evaluation<br />

when the DMH/APS Worker is not available on<br />

the day <strong>of</strong> application.<br />

An unemployable individual’s status as a U is<br />

expiring and the employability screening
