There is no GR eligibility regardless <strong>of</strong> whether the<br />

child is now living in the home with the individual or<br />

grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.,<br />

who are timed-out <strong>of</strong> CalWORKs<br />

are eligible to GR, if all other<br />

requirements are met.<br />

SSI/SSP Application<br />

If the GR pregnant applicant/participant is timelimited<br />

under the CaWORKs Program, the pregnant<br />

participant may be aided on GR during her third<br />

trimester <strong>of</strong> pregnancy until the baby is born.<br />

Is GR issued to individuals with a pending<br />

SSI/SSP application?<br />

Yes, GR may be issued when an SSI/SSP<br />

application is pending or while the individual is<br />

awaiting initial SSI/SSP benefits, if otherwise<br />

eligible.<br />

Refer to GR 44-228 and SSIAP on the Intranet for a<br />

full description <strong>of</strong> the Interim Assistance Program<br />

(IAP).<br />

GR is not issued when a family has a disabled<br />

minor and elects to receive SSI/SSP for the minor.<br />

Theses families are referred to apply for CalWORKs<br />

when there are no other CalWORKs-eligible<br />

children in the home, and the parents are<br />

apparently eligible to CalWORKs.<br />

The following case changes require referral <strong>of</strong><br />

individuals to apply for CalWORKs and the initiation<br />

<strong>of</strong> follow-up controls:
