CAPI is Approved<br />

Where can a person apply for CAPI?<br />

A person may apply for CAPI at any GR district<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice.<br />

What happens to GR after CAPI is approved?<br />

Once CAPI is approved, GR must be terminated<br />

immediately.<br />

Refer to CAPI <strong>Policy</strong> for additional CAPI<br />

Responsibility<br />

What is the Worker’s responsibility in assisting<br />

individuals?<br />

It is the Worker’s responsibility to:<br />

Assist the individual to understand all GR<br />

eligibility requirements.<br />

Assist the individual in exploring all possible<br />

alternative sources <strong>of</strong> support (for example,<br />

CalWORKs, SSI/SSP, UIB, DIB, etc).<br />

Assist the individual in understanding the rights<br />

in the application process and after approval by<br />

providing the ABP 392, Information Sheet –<br />

<strong>General</strong> <strong>Relief</strong> (an out <strong>of</strong> drawer form).<br />

Advise individuals about their ongoing obligation<br />

to immediately report any change in<br />

circumstances or information that could affect<br />

continued eligibility.<br />

Advise individuals who are experiencing mail<br />

delivery problems to report the problem to their<br />

local Post Office.<br />

NOTE: In most instances, persons making<br />

formal complaints to the Post Office do<br />

not receive a receipt or other evidence<br />

<strong>of</strong> their actions.<br />
