The intake/screening Worker advises<br />

all veterans that VA educational benefits<br />

not a GR requirement, all persons with<br />

potential eligibility to these benefits are to<br />

be encouraged to contact the Veterans<br />

Administration to apply for these<br />

benefits.<br />

GR 44-121-5 – Other<br />

Military Benefits<br />

Are there other military related benefits?<br />

Yes, following are several Armed Forces-related<br />

types <strong>of</strong> income and property. These are not<br />

Veterans Benefits and are not administered by the<br />

Veterans Administration. Therefore, a CA 5 is not<br />

required on any <strong>of</strong> the subjects below.<br />

Appropriated sources <strong>of</strong> documentation are given<br />

below.<br />

• Individuals who receive allotments from any <strong>of</strong><br />

the following sources are advised to provide<br />

documentation which specifies monthly amount<br />

and expected duration <strong>of</strong> the benefits.<br />

• A 30-day FAC is set up to ensure that the<br />

individual provides the documentation within 30<br />

calendar days.<br />

Refer to Future Action Control – User<br />

Initiated – Create for LEADER instructions for<br />

setting the FAC.<br />

• The individual’s allotment check is reviewed and<br />

the amount recorded in Case Comments.<br />

Allotments<br />

Allotments from active Duty Military Personnel<br />

Servicemen currently on active duty may allot a<br />

portion <strong>of</strong> their pay to their dependents (spouses,<br />

children, and parents).<br />

Documentation <strong>of</strong> allotments may be obtained
