GR 41-202 Criteria<br />

What does administratively unemployable mean?<br />

This means there are reasons other than physical<br />

or mental incapacity which prevents the individual<br />

from finding, accepting or continuing existing<br />

employment.<br />

What’s the criteria for administratively<br />

unemployable?<br />

An individual is determined to be administratively<br />

unemployable when one or more <strong>of</strong> the following (a.<br />

through m.) criteria are met:<br />

a. *Is enrolled/pre-enrolled in a California<br />

<strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Rehabilitation (DR) training<br />

program and the status is verified by a DR form.<br />

Refer to GR 41-413 for details.<br />

b. *Provides full time care to an ill/incapacitated<br />

family member who resides with the GR<br />

participant because no other arrangements can<br />

be made and the need is medically documented.<br />

c. *Is age 17 years old or younger.<br />

d. *Is age 18 and participating in an acceptable<br />

course <strong>of</strong> study, which is expected to completed<br />

prior to the 19 th birthday. The participant’s age,<br />

enrollment in school full time, and expectation to<br />

complete the school program before the<br />

participant’s 19 th birthday must be verified.<br />

• Full time high school enrollment consists <strong>of</strong><br />

four (4) or more hours <strong>of</strong> attendance per day.<br />

• Full time vocational/technical school<br />

enrollment consists <strong>of</strong> 3-1/4 hours or more <strong>of</strong><br />

attendance per day.<br />

e. *Provides care to a child within the GR<br />

household who is under one (1) year <strong>of</strong> age. The<br />

child may be an ineligible alien.<br />

NOTE: For Food Stamp purposes, this<br />

individual remains exempt from Food<br />

Stamp work requirements until the child
