Eligible to GR<br />

• Assist DPSS staff in determining if the NSA<br />

applicants/participants appear to have the<br />

capacity to understand, complete, and sign<br />

affidavits when required.<br />

Can other DMH/APS <strong>of</strong>fices be used to help with<br />

NSA individuals?<br />

Yes, in emergency situations, when co-located<br />

DMH/APS staff are unavailable, the local mental<br />

health facility or other agency/person normally used<br />

by district staff may be utilized.<br />

When an individual who appears to be NSA is<br />

not eligible to GR, are there any referrals that<br />

can be made?<br />

Yes, ineligible individuals who appear to be NSA<br />

are referred to co-located DMH/APS staff (using an<br />

ABP 2012) when they have emergency needs and<br />

request the assistance <strong>of</strong> a <strong>Social</strong> Worker.<br />

Refer to GR 41-108 regarding the denial/termination<br />

<strong>of</strong> individuals who are mentally disabled.<br />
