Individual Dies<br />

Is a vendor payment made if the individual dies<br />

before the vendor payment is sent?<br />

Yes, if an individual dies before receiving benefits<br />

and vendor payments have been requested for<br />

rent only or rent and food, the payment is made to<br />

the facility for rent/food for the month in which the<br />

death occurred.<br />

Mailed<br />

Can GR benefits be mailed to the individual?<br />

Yes, in rare situations, benefits are mailed to<br />

individuals.<br />

Refer to EBT 16-325 for details.<br />

• GR benefits must be mailed to the individual’s<br />

residence address inside Los Angeles County,<br />

including Catalina Island and the Northwest<br />

area. A Commercial Mail Receiving Agency<br />

(CMRA) or Mail Drop address may not be used<br />

for mail issuances.<br />

• Individuals cannot use a mailing address<br />

outside <strong>of</strong> the County.<br />

• Homeless individuals using the district <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

mailing address cannot have benefits mailed.<br />

What is a money management problem?<br />

A money management problem exists when there<br />

is evidence that an individual does not use the GR<br />

grant to pay rent/R&B. Evidence <strong>of</strong> a money<br />

management problem may be either <strong>of</strong> the<br />

following:
