Unemployable individuals who reapply before<br />

they are eligible indicating they are<br />

unemployable are referred for employability<br />

screening or mental health evaluation whichever<br />

is applicable.<br />

NOTE: All individuals in B&C facilities must be<br />

designated as either employable or<br />

unemployable. As <strong>of</strong> November 11,<br />

1997, they are no longer automatically<br />

AU.<br />

GR 40-121.12 –<br />

Reapplication – NSA<br />

What should be done when an individual has<br />

been terminated for time limits and reapplies<br />

before the next eligibility date and declares to<br />

be NSA?<br />

Application shall be processed as follows:<br />

No cash benefits are issued until the individual is<br />

determined to be NSA. Emergent needs are<br />

met through vouchers and/or Food Stamps until<br />

the NSA evaluation is completed.<br />

If the DMH/APS Worker determines the<br />

individual is NSA, GR is approved, <strong>of</strong> otherwise<br />

eligible. If the individual is employable, the<br />

application will be automatically denied by<br />

LEADER. The Food Stamp application will be<br />

processed following current procedures.<br />

GR 40-121.13 – 365-day<br />

Time Limit Period<br />

When does the 365-day time limit period begin?<br />

The 365-day time limit period begins the day <strong>of</strong> the<br />

GROW Orientation/appraisal appointment or the<br />

day <strong>of</strong> approval, whichever comes first. Individuals<br />

who are on and <strong>of</strong>f aid frequently could reach the<br />

end <strong>of</strong> their 365-day period without have used all <strong>of</strong><br />

their 277 days <strong>of</strong> eligibility. When this happens, the<br />

next 365-day period automatically begins and the<br />

individual will continue to be aided without a break<br />

in aid from one period to the next.<br />

EXAMPLE:<br />

An individual is first approved February 1, 2003; his<br />

365-day time limit period will be February 1, 2003<br />

through January 31, 2004. During this time, he is<br />

eligible to 277 days <strong>of</strong> aid. The individual is<br />

terminated for no CW 7 March 31, 2003. Thus far,
