When the responsible relative out <strong>of</strong> the home does<br />

not return the initial PA 528 within ten working days,<br />

a second PA 528 is sent and a ten working day<br />

FAC is set.<br />

When it is returned within ten days, follow<br />

instructions in GR 43-108.2 above.<br />

NOTE: A referral for collection is made when there<br />

is a court order for alimony and/or when<br />

the responsible relative returns the initial<br />

PA 528 but fails to return the PA 808.<br />

returned?<br />

When a responsible relative residing in California<br />

responds to the PA 528 but fails or refuses to<br />

acknowledge liability to contribute on the PA 808, a<br />

manual referral is made for collection.<br />

What is required at Annual Agreement?<br />

A reinvestigation is made at each Annual<br />

Agreement to determine the legally responsible<br />

relative’s ability to contribute.<br />

When are referrals for collection made?<br />

Manual referrals for collection are made when:<br />

• A court order for support (alimony) exists that is<br />

not being met; or<br />

• A PA 808 has not been received within ten<br />

working days.<br />

How are referrals for collection made?<br />

In addition to the original PA 528, the Worker<br />

includes the following in the referral:<br />

• The present circumstances <strong>of</strong> the individual<br />

including income, earnings if the individual is<br />

employed, as well as any other information<br />

believed to be pertinent to a court hearing.<br />

• When there is court ordered alimony, secure
