Contributions<br />

Are voluntary contributions from responsible<br />

relatives explored?<br />

Yes, as application the Worker determines if there<br />

are responsible relatives who do not have a liability<br />

but who are willing to assume full or partial<br />

responsibility for the support <strong>of</strong> the individual. Such<br />

support is acknowledged on the PA 379, Request<br />

for Support Information from Contributor (an out <strong>of</strong><br />

drawer form).<br />

Exception – DV<br />

If the responsible relative in the home provides<br />

FULL support, what action is required?<br />

When it is determined by evaluating the PA 528 that<br />

the relative is able and willing to contribute the<br />

amount <strong>of</strong> the GR grant or higher, there is no<br />

eligibility to GR and aid is denied/terminated.<br />

EXCEPTION: Victims <strong>of</strong> Domestic<br />

Violence/Battered Individuals<br />

• GR may be issued, if all other eligibility<br />

requirements are met, to a victim <strong>of</strong> domestic<br />

violence/battered person even though it is<br />

determined by reviewing the PA 528 or PA 808<br />

that the responsible relative spouse is able and<br />

willing to contribute a sufficient amount to cover<br />

the individuals needs.<br />

• The responsible relative spouse is not exempt<br />

from liability and must pay all support monies<br />

directly to Los Angeles County.<br />

on Victims <strong>of</strong> Domestic Violence/Battered<br />
