A disabled 18-year old living with a needy parent<br />

or other CalWORKs eligible caretaker is not<br />

eligible to CalWORKs if the disability prevents<br />

them from meeting the CalWORKs<br />

school/training requirements. In this situation,<br />

the disabled 18-year old may be aided on GR if<br />

otherwise eligible (SSI should be explored). The<br />

parent/caretaker may also be aide on GR if<br />

there is no other CalWORKs eligible children in<br />

the home.<br />

Refer to GR 40-105.4 regarding the exploration <strong>of</strong><br />

other benefits and resources (SSI/SSP).<br />

Any family members who are denied or<br />

terminated from CalWORKs or RCA because <strong>of</strong><br />

failure/refusal <strong>of</strong> any member to comply with the<br />

employment requirements <strong>of</strong> the program are<br />

ineligible to GR.<br />

GR 40-105.6 – Eligibility<br />

to Other Programs<br />

Are individuals who are determined eligible to<br />

other assistance programs eligible to GR?<br />

No. GR benefits are not issued to an individual who<br />

is determined eligible for, or in receipt <strong>of</strong><br />

CalWORKs, SSI/SSP RCA, or CAPI benefits, or<br />

suspended from SSI.<br />

EXCEPTION: Persons approved for SSI/SSP, but<br />

pending receipt <strong>of</strong> initial benefits are<br />

eligible to GR emergency aid, if<br />

otherwise eligible.<br />

Refer to GR 44-228 for details.<br />

Persons receiving assistance from other programs<br />

are ineligible to GR until the day following the last<br />

day that federal or State assistance was received.<br />

Needy relative caretakers who are receiving Foster<br />

Care rates under the Youakim court order are not<br />

eligible to Gr. If the needy caretaker requests<br />

assistance, the individual is aided under CalWORKs<br />

with the eligible child(ren).<br />

CalWORKs Time Limits<br />

Are individuals who have timed-out <strong>of</strong><br />

CalWORKs eligible to GR?<br />

No. Any parent (biological or adoptive) previously<br />

receiving CalWORKs who was timed-out because<br />

<strong>of</strong> the 60-month time limits shall be ineligible to
