GR 44-205 Housing –<br />

Living Alone<br />

How <strong>of</strong>ten are money management cases<br />

reviewed?<br />

Money management cases are reevaluated at annual<br />

agreement by the worker.<br />

What is considered as living alone?<br />

A GR Unit is budgeted as living alone only in the<br />

following instances:<br />

• Sole Occupant:<br />

The GR individual is the sole occupant on the<br />

property or lives on the same property with others,<br />

but has separate sleeping quarters, such as a<br />

separate house, motor home, camper, detached<br />

garage, mobile home, apartment or hotel room.<br />

• Lives with IHSS Provider<br />

A GR individual is living with his/her IHSS<br />

provider and any <strong>of</strong> the conditions described in<br />

the following two Sections, “Lives with Others Not<br />

Related” or “Lives with Relatives” are met.<br />

• Lives With Others Not Related<br />

A GR Unit is living with others who are not related<br />

and either <strong>of</strong> the following conditions exist:<br />

‣ All others in the home receive State or federal<br />

public assistance (CalWORKs, SSI/SSP,<br />

CAPI), or<br />

‣ All others in the home have separate sleeping<br />

quarters, and<br />

‣ All others in the home purchase and prepare<br />

food separately from the GR Unit.<br />

• Lives with Relatives<br />

A GR Unit lives with relatives and:
