The purpose of the GR screening process is to
identify individuals who appear ineligible to GR.

Who is responsible for the screening process?
GR screening may be completed by an intake Task
Force (screeners) or by the intake Worker.
What should be done if there is doubt about an
individual’s eligibility to GR?
If there is any doubt about an individual’s eligibility
to GR, or if an obviously ineligible person wishes to
apply for GR, the application must be accepted.
Following screening, potentially eligible employable
individuals are referred to the Employment
Specialist via the ABP 154, GROW Employment
Specialist Referral, (an out of drawer form) for an
Employment Needs Evaluation.

Screening Process
What takes place in the screening process?
As part of the screening process, the PA 106,
Would You Like to Register to Vote, (a LEADER
generated form), is given to all individuals. When
the individuals indicate they would like to register, a
Voter Registration form is provided in their primary
language.

What forms are used for GR applications?
The SAWS 1, Application for Cash Aid, Food
Stamps and/or Med-Cal/State-Run County
Medical Services Program, is an on-line
LEADER application for GR.
The SAWS 2, Statement of Facts Cash Aid,
Food Stamps and/or Medi-Cal/State-Run County
Medical Services Program, is printed off
LEADER (after completing the SAWS 1) and
signed by the individual.
