attend an interview in the district <strong>of</strong>fice to<br />

complete the GR application, or<br />

• Facility administrator feels the individual is not<br />

ready to leave the facility for that day, or<br />

• District administration believes a home call is<br />

otherwise necessary.<br />

GR 45-102.2 SFIS<br />

Are individuals in B&C exempt from SFIS<br />

requirements?<br />

B&C cases are non-mandatory on the SFIS for<br />

fingerprinting and photo imaging. If the facility feels<br />

the individual is not ready to leave for that day, the<br />

SFIS requirement may be temporarily deferred.<br />

However, once the individual is no longer in B&C, an<br />

appointment must be scheduled for SFIS, by the<br />

Worker.<br />

NOTE: If the individual is able to come into the<br />

district <strong>of</strong>fice for interview, a referral to SFIS<br />

is made that day, by the Worker.<br />

How is licensing verified?<br />

To determine if a facility is licensed, the State<br />

<strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Services</strong> Community Care<br />

Licensing Section is contacted. The regional <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

telephone number is (323) 980-4934.<br />

When the facility is an Alcohol or Drug Recovery<br />

program, the California <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Alcohol and<br />

Drug Programs is responsible for licensing. The<br />

license is verified by calling (916) 322-2911.<br />

GR 45-103.2 Renewal<br />

Can B&C be paid to a facility when the facility<br />

has applied for a license renewal but he State<br />

has delayed the renewal?<br />

No, if a B&C facility has applied for a license renewal<br />

and the State has delayed issuance pending<br />

compliance with State requirements, SOS/VPU<br />

issues vendor payments at the R&B rate for up to<br />

three months. When the license is provided by the<br />

facility, SOS/VPU retroactively pays the facility the
