The individual must be present. In GR family case<br />

situations involving an aided minor, either parent<br />

must be present on behalf <strong>of</strong> the aided minor child.<br />

The hearing must be conducted in a manner that<br />

ensures confidentiality.<br />

Are individuals allowed representation at the<br />

hearing?<br />

Yes, the individual has the right to be represented at<br />

a hearing by any person(s) <strong>of</strong> their choice. The<br />

individual or representative is permitted to tape<br />

record and/or take notes during the hearing.<br />

May the individual bring a witness to testify on<br />

behalf <strong>of</strong> the individual?<br />

Yes.<br />

which resulted in duplicate filing?<br />

When it is determined that an individual reapplies for<br />

GR in error (e.g., did not understand the case was<br />

suspended, etc.), the current application is denied<br />

without sanction.<br />

The hearing must be conducted by a Hearing Officer<br />

at the levels <strong>of</strong> an Eligibility Supervisor (ES) or above<br />

for <strong>General</strong> <strong>Relief</strong> (GR) eligibility hearings’ or a GAIN<br />

<strong>Services</strong> Supervisor or above for a <strong>General</strong> <strong>Relief</strong><br />

Opportunities for Work (GROW) hearing. The
