4. A Scholarship may provide<br />

(a) a maintenance payment to be determined by <strong>the</strong> Managers,<br />

(b) a payment to meet any <strong>University</strong> and/or College fees payable by <strong>the</strong> Scholar,<br />

(c) a contribution to o<strong>the</strong>r costs such as equipment, travel expenses, according to <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

In determining <strong>the</strong> award <strong>the</strong> Managers shall take into account any o<strong>the</strong>r financial resources available<br />

to <strong>the</strong> Scholar.<br />

5. After provision has been made for any Fellowships and Scholarships, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund,<br />

and such portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital as <strong>the</strong>y may determine, shall be applied towards o<strong>the</strong>r costs related to<br />

experimental research in <strong>the</strong> Institute <strong>of</strong> Criminology at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

6. Any unexpended income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund in a financial year may be accumulated and expended in<br />

any one or more subsequent years in accordance with Regulations 3 to 5, as may be determined by<br />

<strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

DR S. T. LEE PUBLIC POLICY LECTURE FUND<br />

1. The benefaction <strong>of</strong> Dr S. T. Lee, Honorary Fellow <strong>of</strong> Wolfson College, shall form a fund called<br />

<strong>the</strong> Dr S. T. Lee Public Policy Lecture Fund, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be used to provide an annual<br />

lecture called <strong>the</strong> Dr S. T. Lee Public Policy Lecture.<br />

2. The appointment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Dr S. T. Lee Public Policy Lecturer shall be made by <strong>the</strong> Vice-Chancellor<br />

each year on <strong>the</strong> advice <strong>of</strong> a committee comprising not more than five members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Senate appointed<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Council in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for four years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

appointment.<br />

3. The duty <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lecturer shall be to deliver in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> during Full Term a lecture on some<br />

aspect or aspects <strong>of</strong> scientific, medical, or technological research and developments that are likely to<br />

have significant implications for public policy over <strong>the</strong> next decade, and should reflect on some <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>se policy implications.<br />

KENNEDY LEIGH FUND FOR MODERN HEBREW<br />

1. The sums received from <strong>the</strong> Trustees <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kennedy Leigh Charitable Trust towards <strong>the</strong><br />

endowment <strong>of</strong> a <strong>University</strong> Lectureship in Modern Hebrew, to be entitled <strong>the</strong> Kennedy Leigh<br />

Lectureship, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Kennedy Leigh Fund for Modern Hebrew.<br />

2. The Fund shall be under <strong>the</strong> control <strong>of</strong> a Board <strong>of</strong> Managers, who shall be:<br />

(a) <strong>the</strong> Regius Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Hebrew;<br />

(b) two persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Middle Eastern Studies to serve for<br />

two years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment, one <strong>of</strong> whom shall be appointed after<br />

consultation with and with <strong>the</strong> agreement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> teaching <strong>of</strong>ficers in Hebrew in <strong>the</strong> Department<br />

and one in consultation with <strong>the</strong> Trustees <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kennedy Leigh Charitable Trust.<br />

3. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> stipend, national insurance, pension<br />

contributions, and associated indirect costs payable by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in respect <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kennedy Leigh<br />

Lecturer in Modern Hebrew.<br />

4. After provision has been made in accordance with Regulation 3, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be<br />

applied at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers for <strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> Modern Hebrew in<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

5. Any unexpended income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund in a financial year may be ei<strong>the</strong>r added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Fund or accumulated for use as income in future years, as <strong>the</strong> Managers may determine.<br />

6. The <strong>University</strong> shall have power to alter <strong>the</strong>se regulations by Grace on <strong>the</strong> recommendation <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, subject to <strong>the</strong> approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Trustees <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Kennedy Leigh Charitable Trust.<br />
