B. B. ROBERTS FUND<br />
1. The sum bequea<strong>the</strong>d to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> for <strong>the</strong> purposes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scott Polar Research Institute by<br />
<strong>the</strong> late Dr B. B. Roberts, CMG, <strong>of</strong> Churchill College, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> B. B. Roberts Fund.<br />
2. The annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund and any unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be<br />
used at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund for <strong>the</strong> purposes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scott Polar Research<br />
Institute, primarily for <strong>the</strong> support <strong>of</strong> research work in that Institute and for <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> facilities<br />
for such research.<br />
3. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scott Polar Research Institute, and two<br />
persons appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term by <strong>the</strong> General Board on <strong>the</strong> nomination <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Committee<br />
for <strong>the</strong> Scott Polar Research Institute, to serve for three years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment.<br />

D. W. ROBERTS PRIZE FUND<br />
1. The sums given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in memory <strong>of</strong> D. W. Roberts, formerly <strong>University</strong> Lecturer in<br />
Architecture, shall form a fund for <strong>the</strong> award annually <strong>of</strong> a prize in architecture called <strong>the</strong> David Wyn<br />
Roberts Memorial Prize.<br />
2. The value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be <strong>the</strong> annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />
3. The Prize shall be awarded each year before <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Easter Term by <strong>the</strong> Examiners for<br />
Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Architecture Tripos to <strong>the</strong> candidate who in <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>sis submitted under <strong>the</strong> regulations<br />
for that Part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Tripos achieves <strong>the</strong> greatest distinction.<br />
4. In any year in which <strong>the</strong> Prize is not awarded <strong>the</strong> income for that year shall be added to <strong>the</strong><br />
capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />

ROSE BOOK-COLLECTING PRIZE<br />
1. The donation <strong>of</strong> James H. Marrow and Emily Rose, given in honour <strong>of</strong> Daniel and Joanna Rose,<br />
shall form a fund, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be used to provide a prize to be called <strong>the</strong> Rose Book-<br />
Collecting Prize.<br />
2. The Prize shall be <strong>of</strong>fered for competition each year and shall be open ei<strong>the</strong>r to all resident<br />
undergraduate and graduate students in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, or to resident undergraduate and graduate<br />
students in alternate years, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Library Syndicate.<br />
3. The purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be to encourage students to assemble coherent collections <strong>of</strong> books,<br />
which can be on any topic, from any period, or <strong>of</strong> any genre. The entry for <strong>the</strong> Prize shall consist <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> submission <strong>of</strong> a list <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> books collected and entered for <strong>the</strong> Prize, toge<strong>the</strong>r with an essay<br />
explaining <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>me and significance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> collection.<br />
4. The competition, toge<strong>the</strong>r with detailed rules for participation, shall be announced by <strong>the</strong> Library<br />
Syndicate during <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term each year. Entries shall be submitted to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> Librarian<br />
so as to arrive not later than <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong> Full Lent Term and <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be awarded in <strong>the</strong><br />
Easter Term.<br />
5. The competition shall be judged by a panel <strong>of</strong> not less than two Adjudicators who shall be<br />
appointed each year by <strong>the</strong> Library Syndicate.<br />
6. The value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be a minimum <strong>of</strong> £500, but this sum shall be reviewed from time to<br />
time by <strong>the</strong> Library Syndicate. If on any occasion <strong>the</strong>re is no entry <strong>of</strong> sufficient merit to deserve a<br />
prize, <strong>the</strong> unexpended income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fund for that year shall ei<strong>the</strong>r be available for use in future years<br />
or added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fund as <strong>the</strong> Library Syndicate may determine.<br />
7. A winner <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall not be eligible to compete a second time by <strong>of</strong>fering <strong>the</strong> same<br />
collection for consideration.<br />

HOLLAND ROSE STUDENTSHIP<br />
1. The Studentship founded by Dr John Holland Rose, sometime Vere Harmsworth Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />
Naval History, for <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> encouraging <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> recent history and present problems <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> British Empire, shall be called <strong>the</strong> Holland Rose Studentship and shall be applied also for <strong>the</strong><br />
purpose <strong>of</strong> encouraging <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> recent history and present problems <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Commonwealth.<br />
2. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be to provide for <strong>the</strong> Holland Rose Studentship.
