5. In determining <strong>the</strong> award <strong>the</strong> Managers shall take into account any o<strong>the</strong>r financial resources<br />
available to <strong>the</strong> Scholar.<br />
6. Any unexpended income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund in a financial year may be accumulated as capital or<br />
expended in any one or more subsequent years in accordance with Regulation 3 as may be determined<br />
by <strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

RONALD NORRISH FUND<br />
1. The royalties from <strong>the</strong> sale <strong>of</strong> Photochemistry and Reaction Kinetics, <strong>the</strong> copyright <strong>of</strong> which was<br />
assigned to <strong>the</strong> former Department <strong>of</strong> Physical Chemistry by <strong>the</strong> individual contributors and <strong>the</strong> editors,<br />
shall form a fund, to be called <strong>the</strong> Ronald Norrish Fund, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be applied to<br />
provide an annual prize to an undergraduate for distinguished work in physical chemistry.<br />
2. The prize shall be called <strong>the</strong> Ronald Norrish Prize in Physical Chemistry and shall be awarded<br />
by <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Chemistry on <strong>the</strong> recommendation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Physical<br />
Chemistry to a candidate for Part III <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Natural Sciences Tripos who achieves distinction in physical<br />
chemistry.<br />

NORRISIAN PRIZE<br />
Endowments, 1904, p. 112<br />
1. The Norrisian Prize shall be <strong>of</strong>fered annually for an essay, <strong>of</strong> not less than 10,000 words and not<br />
more than 25,000 words in length, on a subject relating to Christian Doctrine or Systematic Theology.<br />
2. The Prize shall be open to all graduates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> and to all persons whose names are<br />
entered on <strong>the</strong> Register <strong>of</strong> Graduate Students, provided that on <strong>the</strong> last day appointed for sending in<br />
essays <strong>the</strong>y are <strong>of</strong> not more than thirteen years’ standing from admission to <strong>the</strong>ir first degree, whe<strong>the</strong>r<br />
<strong>of</strong> this or ano<strong>the</strong>r university, and provided also that no previous winner <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be eligible<br />
to compete.<br />
3. The Prize shall be adjudged by three Adjudicators, who shall be <strong>the</strong> Norris-Hulse Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />
Divinity and two members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Regent House appointed by <strong>the</strong> General Board on <strong>the</strong> nomination <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Divinity before <strong>the</strong> division <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lent Term each year, to serve until <strong>the</strong> division<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lent Term in <strong>the</strong> following year. Each appointed Adjudicator shall receive from <strong>the</strong> Norrisian<br />
Fund, unless no essay is sent in, such sum as shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Divinity<br />
within a range approved from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />
4. Each candidate shall submit <strong>the</strong> proposed subject <strong>of</strong> his or her essay to <strong>the</strong> Registrary not later<br />
than <strong>the</strong> division <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lent Term. The Registrary shall communicate <strong>the</strong> subject to <strong>the</strong> Adjudicators,<br />
and shall inform <strong>the</strong> candidate by <strong>the</strong> last day <strong>of</strong> Full Lent Term <strong>of</strong> its approval or rejection by <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
5. Candidates shall send <strong>the</strong>ir essays to <strong>the</strong> Registrary so as to arrive not later than 19 December.<br />
6. The value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be such sum as shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Divinity<br />
within a range approved from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />
7. The prize-winner shall deposit a printed or typewritten copy <strong>of</strong> his or her essay in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />
Library.<br />

NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY FUND<br />
1. The sum <strong>of</strong> £250, <strong>the</strong> gift <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> North Carolina State <strong>University</strong>,<br />
shall form a fund, to be called <strong>the</strong> North Carolina State <strong>University</strong> Fund, which shall be used to<br />
provide a North Carolina State <strong>University</strong> Prize.<br />
2. The value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be <strong>the</strong> annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />
3. The Prize shall be awarded annually by <strong>the</strong> Examiners for Part IIB <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Chemical Engineering<br />
Tripos to a candidate for that Part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Tripos who has shown distinction in <strong>the</strong> performance <strong>of</strong><br />
original project work in <strong>the</strong> form <strong>of</strong> a <strong>the</strong>oretical or experimental investigation. The Prize shall not be<br />
awarded to <strong>the</strong> same candidate to whom <strong>the</strong> T. R. C. Fox Prize is awarded.
