BOSCAWEN FUND<br />

1. The sum received under <strong>the</strong> Will <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Hon. Mrs Pamela Sherek, sister <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Hon. Mildmay<br />

Thomas Boscawen, <strong>of</strong> Trinity College, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Boscawen Fund.<br />

2. The capital and <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be at <strong>the</strong> disposal <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fitzwilliam Museum<br />

Syndicate and shall be used for <strong>the</strong> purchase <strong>of</strong> works <strong>of</strong> art for <strong>the</strong> Fitzwilliam Museum, in particular<br />

works <strong>of</strong> sculpture and metalwork, and for <strong>the</strong> care <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Museum’s collections.<br />

Purpose.<br />

BOTANIC GARDEN ENDOWMENT FUND 1<br />

1. The Botanic Garden Endowment Fund shall consist <strong>of</strong> moneys given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> for <strong>the</strong><br />

benefit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Botanic Garden.<br />

2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be employed by <strong>the</strong> General Board, after consulting <strong>the</strong> Botanic<br />

Garden Syndicate, to defray those costs <strong>of</strong> upkeep and maintenance which relate to <strong>the</strong> parts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Garden that are regularly open to <strong>the</strong> public and which would o<strong>the</strong>rwise be a charge on general<br />

<strong>University</strong> funds.<br />

3. Any unexpended income shall be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />

ISABELLE BOUHON FUND<br />

Grace 1 <strong>of</strong> 27 January 2010<br />

1. The sums received by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> as memorial gifts from Mme Bouhon-Bustin, and o<strong>the</strong>rs,<br />

shall form a fund, to be entitled <strong>the</strong> Isabelle Bouhon Fund, to promote <strong>the</strong> education and recognition<br />

<strong>of</strong> excellent researchers who are at an early stage <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir academic careers in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in <strong>the</strong><br />

field <strong>of</strong> Regenerative Medicine or, if Regenerative Medicine is no longer an academic discipline, in<br />

<strong>the</strong> fields <strong>of</strong> cellular and developmental biology.<br />

2. The administration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be entrusted to a Committee <strong>of</strong> Managers consisting <strong>of</strong>:<br />

(a) <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Clinical Medicine;<br />

(b) three persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> Council <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Clinical Medicine, one on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

donor and one to be active in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> Regenerative Medicine or if it is no longer an academic<br />

discipline, in <strong>the</strong> fields <strong>of</strong> cellular and/or developmental biology;<br />

(c) one person appointed by <strong>the</strong> Council <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Biological Sciences.<br />

The members in classes (b) and (c) shall be appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for three years<br />

from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment. If one or more <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fices in classes (a)–(c) are held<br />

by <strong>the</strong> same person or if one or more <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se <strong>of</strong>fices is vacant or its tenure has expired, <strong>the</strong> Faculty<br />

Boards <strong>of</strong> Biology and Clinical Medicine shall appoint one or more additional Managers so as to<br />

ensure that <strong>the</strong>re are always at least five Managers.<br />

3. The income, and under exceptional circumstances <strong>the</strong> capital, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied in<br />

such a manner as shall be approved by <strong>the</strong> Managers in accordance with Regulation 1, including<br />

payment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> expenses <strong>of</strong> visiting lecturers, seminar programmes, and grants to defray <strong>the</strong> expenses<br />

<strong>of</strong> Graduate Students and postdoctoral researchers when attending conferences or visiting or working<br />

in laboratories outside <strong>Cambridge</strong>, so as to promote <strong>the</strong> education and recognition <strong>of</strong> researchers at an<br />

early stage <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir careers.<br />

DEREK BREWER PRIZE<br />

Grace 4 <strong>of</strong> 2 December 2009<br />

1. The sums subscribed in memory <strong>of</strong> Derek Brewer, Emeritus Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> English, formerly Master<br />

<strong>of</strong> Emmanuel College, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Derek Brewer Fund.<br />

2. There shall be a Prize, called <strong>the</strong> Derek Brewer Prize, which shall be awarded annually by <strong>the</strong><br />

Examiners for Part I <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English Tripos for an outstanding performance in Paper 1 (English literature<br />

and its contexts, 1300–1550) or Paper 10 (Early medieval literature and its contexts) in that examination.<br />

3. The value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be <strong>the</strong> annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund. If in any year <strong>the</strong> Prize is not<br />

awarded, <strong>the</strong> unexpended income for that year shall be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />

By Grace 1 <strong>of</strong> 31 October 2007 <strong>the</strong> Maynard & Betham Fund and <strong>the</strong> Dr Walker’s Rentcharge Fund were amalgamated in<br />

<strong>the</strong> Botanic Garden Endowment Fund.<br />
