as Chairman. The Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Clinical Medicine shall act as Secretary to <strong>the</strong><br />
Managers.<br />
3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be used for <strong>the</strong> purpose specified in Regulation 1, by <strong>the</strong> award <strong>of</strong><br />
grants or bursaries to postgraduate students <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> engaged in research in Medicine, or by<br />
<strong>the</strong> award <strong>of</strong> grants to <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Clinical Medicine for <strong>the</strong> assistance <strong>of</strong> such students in<br />
undertaking such research.<br />
4. The foregoing regulations, except Regulation 1, shall be subject to alteration by Grace, provided<br />
that <strong>the</strong> regulations shall always be in accordance with <strong>the</strong> terms <strong>of</strong> Mrs Sennitt’s Will.<br />

GEORGE PETER BAKER PRIZE IN MEDICINE<br />
1. The sums given by George Peter Baker, M.D., <strong>of</strong> Trinity College, shall form a fund for <strong>the</strong><br />
purpose <strong>of</strong> awarding a prize in Medicine to candidates for Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Final M.B. Examination.<br />
2. The title <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be <strong>the</strong> George Peter Baker Prize in Medicine.<br />
3. A Prize shall be awarded each year to <strong>the</strong> candidate who achieves <strong>the</strong> highest combined score in<br />
<strong>the</strong> multiple choice, extended matching, and structured-answer components <strong>of</strong> Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Final M.B.<br />
Examination held in that academical year.<br />
4. The value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be <strong>the</strong> annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />

STANLEY BALDWIN FUND<br />
1. The sum given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in memory <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Right Honourable Earl Baldwin <strong>of</strong> Bewdley,<br />
<strong>of</strong> Trinity College, sometime Chancellor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, by <strong>the</strong> Mary Kinross Charitable Trust shall<br />
form a fund for <strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> British political history in <strong>the</strong> years 1919 to 1939.<br />
2. The Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> History shall be <strong>the</strong> Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund. The Faculty Board may delegate<br />
any or all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir functions under <strong>the</strong>se regulations to a Committee not necessarily consisting wholly<br />
<strong>of</strong> members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board.<br />
3. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> one or two Stanley Baldwin<br />
Studentships, which may be awarded by <strong>the</strong> Managers to any Graduate Student pursuing or intending<br />
to pursue in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> a course <strong>of</strong> study or research in <strong>the</strong> field specified in Regulation 1. A<br />
Studentship shall be awarded for one year in <strong>the</strong> first instance and may be renewed for a period <strong>of</strong><br />
one year at a time, subject to a maximum tenure <strong>of</strong> three years.<br />
4. The value <strong>of</strong> each Studentship shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Managers within a range approved<br />
from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />
5. Each year in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term <strong>the</strong> Managers shall publish a Notice inviting applications for<br />
<strong>the</strong> Studentships, indicating <strong>the</strong> date by which applications shall be received. The names <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
successful candidates shall be published not later than 30 June next following.<br />
6. From any unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong> Fund <strong>the</strong> Managers may make grants to<br />
Graduate Students working on <strong>the</strong> period specified in Regulation 1 to assist in meeting <strong>the</strong> expenses<br />
<strong>of</strong> research consistent with <strong>the</strong> object <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />

BALFOUR FUND AND STUDENTSHIP<br />

1. The fund shall be called <strong>the</strong> Balfour Fund and shall be devoted to <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> original<br />
research in Biology.<br />
2. The administration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be entrusted to three Managers, in conjunction with <strong>the</strong><br />
Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Biology, which Faculty Board is hereinafter called <strong>the</strong> Board. Appointments <strong>of</strong><br />
Managers shall be made by <strong>the</strong> Board, and shall be for a period <strong>of</strong> five years in each case. Managers<br />
may be ei<strong>the</strong>r members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board or not, and retiring Managers shall be re-eligible. All <strong>the</strong> powers<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers may be exercised by a majority <strong>of</strong> those present at a meeting, provided that two<br />
Managers at least be present.<br />
3. The income accruing from <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied:<br />
(a) to endow a Studentship, to be called <strong>the</strong> Balfour Studentship, <strong>the</strong> holder <strong>of</strong> which shall undertake<br />
original research in Biology, especially Animal Morphology;<br />
(b) to fur<strong>the</strong>r, by occasional grants <strong>of</strong> money, original research in <strong>the</strong> same subject.<br />
