2. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> such number <strong>of</strong> Elmore<br />
Medical Research Studentships as <strong>the</strong> Managers shall determine, <strong>the</strong> holders <strong>of</strong> which shall devote<br />
<strong>the</strong>mselves to research in medicine or in some branch <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> medical sciences at or from <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>. 1<br />
The value <strong>of</strong> any Studentship shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Managers within a range approved from time<br />
to time by <strong>the</strong> Council. After provision has been made for payments to <strong>the</strong> Student or Students <strong>the</strong><br />
Managers may from <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund make such grants as <strong>the</strong>y consider appropriate in respect<br />
<strong>of</strong> expenses incurred in connection with <strong>the</strong> research undertaken by Students, for purposes associated<br />
with <strong>the</strong>ir work.<br />
3. From unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong> Fund <strong>the</strong> Managers may make grants for <strong>the</strong> support<br />
<strong>of</strong> study or research in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> medical education or research within <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, and in particular<br />
within <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Clinical Medicine or within <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> Biology.<br />
ENGINEERING ENDOWMENT FUND<br />
The moneys donated in response to an appeal made on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering, <strong>the</strong><br />
details <strong>of</strong> which were announced in <strong>the</strong> Reporter <strong>of</strong> 23 January 1950 (p. 658), shall form a fund to be<br />
called <strong>the</strong> Engineering Endowment Fund, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be expended, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering, for <strong>the</strong> general purposes <strong>of</strong> that Department.<br />

SIXTH EARL OF ENNISKILLEN FUND<br />
1. The sum bequea<strong>the</strong>d to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> for <strong>the</strong> sole benefit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> Library by Nancy<br />
Henderson Cole, Dowager Countess <strong>of</strong> Enniskillen, in memory <strong>of</strong> her late husband, David Lowry Cole,<br />
B.A., <strong>of</strong> Trinity College, Sixth Earl <strong>of</strong> Enniskillen, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Sixth Earl <strong>of</strong> Enniskillen<br />
Fund.<br />
2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Library Syndicate for <strong>the</strong><br />
purchase <strong>of</strong> books for <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> Library in any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following subjects: history, military science,<br />
horticulture, dendrology, botany, zoology, agriculture, animal husbandry, wild animals, <strong>the</strong> natural<br />
world, outdoor sport, great paintings, great literature, great statesmen <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Western world, conservation,<br />
and finance. A book plate shall be affixed to each book so purchased recording that it was purchased<br />
from <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />
3. Unexpended income shall not be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund but shall be accumulated for<br />
use as income in subsequent years.<br />

KEITH ENTWISTLE MEMORIAL FUND<br />
1. The sums subscribed in memory <strong>of</strong> Keith Entwistle, B.A., Vet.M.B., <strong>of</strong> Pembroke College, who<br />
died on 19 August 1959, shall form a Keith Entwistle Memorial Fund, for <strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> study<br />
and research in Veterinary Medicine.<br />
2. The Fund shall be administered by five Managers, who shall be <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong><br />
Veterinary Medicine, <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Veterinary Medicine, <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />
Veterinary Clinical Studies, and <strong>the</strong> President and Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Cambridge</strong> <strong>University</strong> Veterinary<br />
Society.<br />
3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied to support a Keith Entwistle Memorial Lecture. The<br />
Lecturer shall be appointed each year by <strong>the</strong> Managers, and shall deliver one lecture in <strong>the</strong> Department<br />
<strong>of</strong> Veterinary Medicine.<br />
4. The Lecturer shall receive, from <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund, such sum as shall be determined by <strong>the</strong><br />
Managers, within a range approved from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />

‘Research from <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>’ means research pursued elsewhere than at <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> during <strong>the</strong> tenure <strong>of</strong> a Studentship.
