D. M. MCDONALD GRANTS AND AWARDS FUND<br />
1. The sums given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by Dr D. M. McDonald, or by <strong>the</strong> D. M. C. McDonald<br />
Foundation or its successors, for <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> grants or awards for fieldwork and research in<br />
archaeology, and any sums transferred for <strong>the</strong> same purpose from <strong>the</strong> D. M. McDonald Trust Fund by<br />
<strong>the</strong> Managing Committee for <strong>the</strong> McDonald Institute, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> D. M. McDonald<br />
Grants and Awards Fund.<br />
2. The administration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be under <strong>the</strong> control <strong>of</strong> an Advisory Committee consisting<br />
<strong>of</strong>:<br />
(a) <strong>the</strong> Disney Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Archaeology, or her or his deputy;<br />
(b) <strong>the</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute, if not <strong>the</strong> Disney Pr<strong>of</strong>essor;<br />
(c) <strong>the</strong> George Pitt-Rivers Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Archaeological Science;<br />
(d) <strong>the</strong> Deputy Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute;<br />
(e) one person appointed by <strong>the</strong> General Board;<br />
(f) two persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Human, Social, and Political Science, who shall<br />
be <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Archaeology and Anthropology;<br />
(g) one member <strong>of</strong> a Faculty allied in its interests to archaeology, appointed by <strong>the</strong> General Board<br />
after consultation with <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Archaeology and Anthropology;<br />
(h) two persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> D. M. C. McDonald Foundation.<br />
Members in classes (e), (f), and (g) shall be appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for three years<br />
from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment.<br />
3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be used to provide grants and awards for fieldwork and research<br />
in archaeology to Fellows <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> McDonald Institute or to such o<strong>the</strong>r persons as <strong>the</strong> Advisory Committee<br />
shall determine.<br />
4. The Advisory Committee shall have power to regulate <strong>the</strong>ir own procedure and to approve rules<br />
governing <strong>the</strong> making <strong>of</strong> grants and awards.<br />

MCLATCHIE FUND<br />
1. The money received from <strong>the</strong> bequest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late Dr John Drummond Pryde McLatchie shall<br />
form a fund called <strong>the</strong> McLatchie Fund.<br />
2. The capital and income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied as <strong>the</strong> Cavendish Pr<strong>of</strong>essor may from time<br />
to time decide:<br />
(a) in defraying <strong>the</strong> expenses <strong>of</strong> persons working in <strong>the</strong> Cavendish Laboratory when attending<br />
conferences or visiting o<strong>the</strong>r laboratories outside <strong>Cambridge</strong>;<br />
(b) in making grants to necessitous Graduate Students in <strong>the</strong> Cavendish Laboratory;<br />
(c) in supporting for periods <strong>of</strong> less than six months persons engaged in research in <strong>the</strong> Cavendish<br />
Laboratory;<br />
(d) in providing apparatus and books for <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> teaching and research in <strong>the</strong> Cavendish<br />
Laboratory;<br />
(e) in meeting or contributing to <strong>the</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> any major project which would be <strong>of</strong> lasting benefit to<br />
<strong>the</strong> Cavendish Laboratory.<br />
3. Unexpended income shall not be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund but shall be accumulated for<br />
use as income in subsequent years.<br />

ARNOLD MCNAIR SCHOLARSHIP FUND<br />
1. The sum bequea<strong>the</strong>d to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by <strong>the</strong> late Sir Hersch Lauterpacht, M.A., LL.D., <strong>of</strong> Trinity<br />
College, formerly Whewell Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> International Law, for <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> founding an Arnold<br />
McNair Scholarship in International Law, shall form a fund to be called <strong>the</strong> Arnold McNair Scholarship<br />
Fund.<br />
2. The Electors to <strong>the</strong> Scholarship shall be <strong>the</strong> Whewell Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> International Law or a deputy<br />
appointed by <strong>the</strong> Whewell Pr<strong>of</strong>essor and two o<strong>the</strong>r persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Law.<br />
3. In <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term <strong>of</strong> each year <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Law shall publish a<br />
Notice announcing <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fer <strong>of</strong> one or more Scholarships.
