Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering who are citizens <strong>of</strong> countries in <strong>the</strong> European Union. The support may<br />
contribute towards <strong>the</strong> following:<br />
(i) a maintenance payment to a level determined from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Managers,<br />
(ii) a payment to meet <strong>the</strong> student’s <strong>University</strong> and College fees,<br />
(iii) o<strong>the</strong>r costs such as additional training, equipment, travel expenses, conferences, etc., according<br />
to <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />
4. In considering a student for an award from <strong>the</strong> Fund <strong>the</strong> Managers shall have regard to evidence<br />
<strong>of</strong> academic merit.<br />
5. In order to be eligible for support a candidate must have been accepted to follow a course <strong>of</strong><br />
research towards <strong>the</strong> Ph.D. Degree in <strong>the</strong> Computer Laboratory, Judge Business School or Department<br />
<strong>of</strong> Engineering and have been admitted, or be seeking admission by <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Graduate Studies as<br />
a registered Graduate Student in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>. If <strong>the</strong> candidate is not already a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong> he or she shall become such by being matriculated before <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term<br />
next after her or his acceptance as a doctoral student, provided that for good cause <strong>the</strong> Managers may<br />
allow a recipient <strong>of</strong> an award to defer matriculation until a later date.<br />
6. Recipients <strong>of</strong> awards shall be known as Qualcomm Scholars.<br />
7. Any unexpended income may, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers, ei<strong>the</strong>r be added to <strong>the</strong> capital<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund, or retained for use as income in any one or more subsequent years, or applied to <strong>the</strong><br />
benefit <strong>of</strong> doctoral students in <strong>the</strong> Computer Laboratory, Judge Business School or Department <strong>of</strong><br />
Engineering more generally.<br />
8. The <strong>University</strong> will apply any part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital or income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund that remains unspent, at<br />
<strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> term <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund, to <strong>the</strong> benefit <strong>of</strong> doctoral students in <strong>the</strong> Computer Laboratory, Judge<br />
Business School or Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

1. The sums given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in memory <strong>of</strong> Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, King Edward VII<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> English Literature, and T. R. Henn, Reader in Anglo-Irish Literature, shall form a fund,<br />
called <strong>the</strong> Quiller-Couch and T. R. Henn Fund, for <strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> creative work <strong>of</strong> a literary<br />
kind in <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> English.<br />
2. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> a Quiller-Couch Prize and<br />
a T. R. Henn Prize.<br />
3. The T. R. Henn Prize shall be awarded annually by <strong>the</strong> Examiners for Part I <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English Tripos,<br />
to <strong>the</strong> author <strong>of</strong> an original composition, or compositions, <strong>of</strong> a creative nature, who is also a candidate<br />
for Part I <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English Tripos in <strong>the</strong> year in question, and <strong>the</strong> Quiller-Couch Prize shall be awarded<br />
annually by <strong>the</strong> Examiners for Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English Tripos to <strong>the</strong> author <strong>of</strong> an original composition,<br />
or compositions, <strong>of</strong> a creative nature, who is also a candidate for Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English Tripos in <strong>the</strong><br />
year in question. Each Prize shall be awarded to <strong>the</strong> author whose work is adjudged to be <strong>the</strong> most<br />
outstanding among <strong>the</strong> compositions submitted for <strong>the</strong> Prize concerned, save that, if candidates <strong>of</strong><br />
sufficient merit present <strong>the</strong>mselves, one or more additional T. R. Henn and Quiller-Couch Prizes may<br />
be awarded.<br />
4. The Examiners for Parts I and II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English Tripos may make such rules from time to time<br />
as may be necessary to govern <strong>the</strong> award <strong>of</strong> Prizes under Regulation 3.<br />
5. The value <strong>of</strong> each Prize shall be such sum as shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> English<br />
within a range approved from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />
6. Any unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong> Fund may be applied to provide grants to undergraduate<br />
students in <strong>the</strong> Faculty at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> a Committee appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board, for <strong>the</strong><br />
fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> purpose for which <strong>the</strong> Fund was established.<br />

RIBA (ANDERSON AND WEBB) SCHOLARSHIP FOR A RCHITECTURE<br />
1. The Scholarship <strong>of</strong>fered to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by <strong>the</strong> Council <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Royal Institute <strong>of</strong> British<br />
Architects, for <strong>the</strong> advancement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> architecture within <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, shall be called <strong>the</strong><br />
RIBA (Anderson and Webb) Scholarship.
