<strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> academical year next following that in which he or she completed <strong>the</strong><br />

requirements for <strong>the</strong> B.A. Degree;<br />

or (b) on <strong>the</strong> day on which <strong>the</strong> travel is due to begin <strong>the</strong> student has been a Graduate Student for<br />

not more than one year, working under <strong>the</strong> supervision <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Degree Committee for <strong>the</strong><br />

Faculty <strong>of</strong> Human, Social, and Political Science; and provided that <strong>the</strong> student intends to<br />

complete <strong>the</strong> travel before <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> academical year next following that in which he or<br />

she was admitted as a Graduate Student.<br />

7. Applications, accompanied by <strong>the</strong> dates and a short description <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> nature and purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

proposed travel, must be submitted through <strong>the</strong> candidate’s Tutor to <strong>the</strong> Registrary so as to arrive not<br />

later than <strong>the</strong> last day <strong>of</strong> Full Lent Term.<br />

8. Studentships shall be awarded not later than 1 May and <strong>the</strong> emolument shall be payable on<br />

application to <strong>the</strong> Treasurer.<br />

9. Not later than <strong>the</strong> division <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> term next following <strong>the</strong> term or vacation in which <strong>the</strong> travel is<br />

completed, each Ridgeway-Venn Student shall send to <strong>the</strong> Registrary for transmission to <strong>the</strong> Awarders<br />

a short report on his or her travel.<br />

RITCHIE-GINSBURG FUND<br />

1. The proceeds from <strong>the</strong> sale <strong>of</strong> coins from <strong>the</strong> collection <strong>of</strong> Dr C. D. Ginsburg given to <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>University</strong> by his grand-daughter, Miss J. M. Ritchie in 1964, and announced in <strong>the</strong> Reporter on<br />

11 March 1964, shall form a fund to be called, in accordance with her wishes, <strong>the</strong> Ritchie-Ginsburg<br />

Fund.<br />

2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be expended from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Fitzwilliam Museum<br />

Syndicate on <strong>the</strong> purchase <strong>of</strong> coins.<br />

Purpose.<br />

RIVERS LECTURESHIP IN SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY<br />

1. A Lectureship in Social Anthropology, to be called <strong>the</strong> Rivers Lectureship in memory <strong>of</strong> Dr<br />

W. H. R. Rivers, FRS, sometime Fellow <strong>of</strong> St John’s College, shall be established in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Rivers Lectureship Fund shall be:<br />

(a) <strong>the</strong> William Wyse Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Social Anthropology (or a duly appointed deputy), who shall be<br />

Chairman;<br />

(b) one person appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Human, Social, and Political Science in <strong>the</strong><br />

Michaelmas Term to serve for four years from 1 January next following;<br />

(c) one person appointed by <strong>the</strong> Council <strong>of</strong> St John’s College to serve for four years from 1 January<br />

next following;<br />

(d) one <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficer, not being a Pr<strong>of</strong>essor or a Reader, in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Archaeology and<br />

Anthropology, appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Human, Social, and Political Science to serve<br />

for two years from 1 January next following.<br />

3. A Rivers Lecturer may be appointed by <strong>the</strong> Managers in respect <strong>of</strong> any year in which <strong>the</strong> Frazer<br />

Lecture is not to be delivered in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>. The duty <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lecturer shall be to deliver in <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>University</strong> on some day in Full Term one lecture on a subject in Social Anthropology, in its relation<br />

to o<strong>the</strong>r fields <strong>of</strong> study.<br />

4. The stipend <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lecturer shall be such sum within <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund as shall be determined<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Managers within a range approved from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council. The Managers may from<br />

unexpended income, including unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong> Fund, pay <strong>the</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> publishing<br />

<strong>the</strong> lecture and any expenses incurred by <strong>the</strong> Lecturer.<br />

A. W. RYMER ROBERTS FUND<br />

1. The sum <strong>of</strong> £1,000 bequea<strong>the</strong>d to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by Arthur William Rymer Roberts, M.A., <strong>of</strong><br />

Trinity College, shall form a fund to be called <strong>the</strong> A. W. Rymer Roberts Fund.<br />

2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be at <strong>the</strong> disposal <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Pathology for<br />

<strong>the</strong> promotion <strong>of</strong> research in Parasitology.<br />
