4. Applications for grants from <strong>the</strong> Fund may be made at any time to <strong>the</strong> Secretary by any person<br />
working in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> Paediatrics. For grants <strong>of</strong> more than £1,000 <strong>the</strong> agreement <strong>of</strong> all <strong>the</strong> Managers<br />
ei<strong>the</strong>r at a meeting or in writing shall be required, but for grants <strong>of</strong> not more than £1,000 <strong>the</strong> agreement<br />
<strong>of</strong> a majority <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers so recorded or obtained shall be sufficient.<br />

PAEDIATRICS PRIZES<br />
1. The sums made available annually by Cow and Gate Limited, by Fisons Limited, and by Pharmacia<br />
& Upjohn Limited shall be used to provide annual prizes in Paediatrics.<br />
2. The titles <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> prizes shall be <strong>the</strong> Cow and Gate Prize in Paediatrics, <strong>the</strong> Fisons Prize in<br />
Paediatrics, and <strong>the</strong> Pharmacia & Upjohn Prize in Paediatrics.<br />
3. The Prizes shall be open to any member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> who is pursuing his or her clinical<br />
studies in <strong>Cambridge</strong> and is a candidate for <strong>the</strong> Final M.B. Examination. A person to whom a Prize<br />
has been awarded shall not again be eligible as a candidate for <strong>the</strong> same prize.<br />
4. The Prizes shall be awarded by <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Paediatrics and two Adjudicators appointed for<br />
each Prize in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term by <strong>the</strong> General Board on <strong>the</strong> nomination <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong><br />
Clinical Medicine. The name <strong>of</strong> each prize-winner shall be communicated by <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Paediatrics<br />
to <strong>the</strong> donors <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize.<br />

Cow and Gate Prize and Fisons Prize<br />
5. The Cow and Gate Prize and <strong>the</strong> Fisons Prize shall each be awarded for <strong>the</strong> best annotated case<br />
history or study in a particular area <strong>of</strong> Paediatrics. In <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term <strong>of</strong> each year <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />
<strong>of</strong> Paediatrics shall publish a notice <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prizes to be awarded in <strong>the</strong> calendar year next following,<br />
giving <strong>the</strong> value <strong>of</strong> each prize and details <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> form in which <strong>the</strong> case histories or studies are to be<br />
presented, <strong>the</strong> particular areas <strong>of</strong> Paediatrics that may form <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> presentations, and <strong>the</strong> dates<br />
by which and <strong>the</strong> person to whom <strong>the</strong>y should be submitted.<br />

Pharmacia & Upjohn Prize<br />
6. The Pharmacia & Upjohn Prize shall be awarded for <strong>the</strong> best overall performance in <strong>the</strong> approved<br />
course <strong>of</strong> clinical instruction in Paediatrics for Part III <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Final M.B. Examination.<br />
SUZY PAINE FUND<br />
1. The gift <strong>of</strong> Mr C. C. Paine in memory <strong>of</strong> his wife Suzanne Helen Paine, <strong>of</strong> Clare and Girton<br />
Colleges, <strong>University</strong> Lecturer in <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> Economics, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Suzy Paine<br />
Fund, <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> which shall be <strong>the</strong> advancement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> Political Economy.<br />
2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Economics, who may delegate some or<br />
all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir functions under <strong>the</strong>se regulations to a Committee not necessarily consisting wholly <strong>of</strong><br />
members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board.<br />
3. The Managers may make grants from <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund to members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in<br />
statu pupillari who are or intend to be candidates for <strong>the</strong> Economics Tripos and to Graduate Students<br />
undertaking advanced study or research in Development and Asia in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, with priority given<br />
to those who apply for travel costs and help towards conducting primary research in a country in Asia.<br />

PARKE-DAVIS EXCHANGE FELLOWSHIP IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES<br />
1. The sum <strong>of</strong> $400,000 given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by <strong>the</strong> Warner-Lambert Company, for <strong>the</strong> support<br />
<strong>of</strong> a Parke-Davis Exchange Fellowship in Biomedical Sciences, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Parke-<br />
Davis Exchange Fellowship Fund. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be used to provide Parke-Davis<br />
Exchange Fellowships, which shall be open to biomedical scientists working in <strong>Cambridge</strong> or in <strong>the</strong><br />
United States <strong>of</strong> America or Canada.<br />
2. The Fund shall be administered, and <strong>the</strong> Fellows elected, by a Board <strong>of</strong> Managers consisting <strong>of</strong>:<br />
(a) <strong>the</strong> Regius Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Physic as Chairman;<br />
(b) <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Pharmacology;<br />
