3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied in such manner as <strong>the</strong> Managers shall from time to time<br />

determine for <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> research in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> into diseases <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> blood with special<br />

reference to anaemia.<br />

4. The foregoing regulations shall be subject to alteration by Grace on <strong>the</strong> recommendation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Managers, provided always that no alteration shall be made to <strong>the</strong>m without <strong>the</strong> consent <strong>of</strong> Mrs Enfys<br />

Morris Chapman or such person as she may appoint to represent her.<br />

PASSINGHAM FUND AND PRIZE<br />

1. The money received by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> under <strong>the</strong> Will <strong>of</strong> Tremenheere John Passingham shall be<br />

separately invested and shall constitute a fund called <strong>the</strong> Passingham Fund.<br />

2. There shall be a prize, called <strong>the</strong> Passingham Prize, which shall be open for award in each year<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Psychology to a student who in <strong>the</strong> opinion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Department has done work <strong>of</strong> sufficient merit in that year as a candidate for <strong>the</strong> Natural Sciences<br />

Tripos, Part II, ei<strong>the</strong>r in Psychology or in Physiology and Psychology, or as a Graduate Student<br />

registered as a candidate for <strong>the</strong> degree <strong>of</strong> Ph.D. or M.Sc. in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Psychology, provided<br />

that <strong>the</strong> Prize shall not be awarded to any student to whom it has been awarded on a previous occasion.<br />

3. The Prize shall consist <strong>of</strong> books to <strong>the</strong> value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund. If in any year<br />

<strong>the</strong> Prize is not awarded, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund for that year shall be spent on <strong>the</strong> purchase <strong>of</strong> books<br />

for <strong>the</strong> library <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Psychology.<br />

DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY CENTENARY FUND AND STUDENTSHIP<br />

1. The moneys subscribed to <strong>the</strong> appeal held on <strong>the</strong> occasion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> centenary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong><br />

Pathology in 1984 shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Pathology Centenary Fund.<br />

2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be<br />

(a) <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Pathology, and<br />

(b) two <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Pathology appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Biology.<br />

Managers in class (b) shall be appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for four years from 1 January<br />

following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment. The Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Biological Sciences shall act as<br />

Secretary to <strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied from time to time, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers, to<br />

provide a Studentship to be called <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Pathology Centenary Studentship, <strong>the</strong> holder <strong>of</strong><br />

which shall undertake original research in Pathology. Any income from <strong>the</strong> Fund accruing during a<br />

vacancy in <strong>the</strong> Studentship shall be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund or retained as additional income,<br />

as <strong>the</strong> Managers may determine.<br />

4. The Managers shall give due notice <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir intention to proceed to an election.<br />

5. The Managers may elect to a Studentship any person whom <strong>the</strong>y consider suitable. A Student<br />

who on election is not a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> shall become such on taking up <strong>the</strong> Studentship.<br />

6. The Studentship shall be tenable for such period as <strong>the</strong> Managers shall determine on <strong>the</strong> occasion<br />

<strong>of</strong> each election.<br />

7. The emolument <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Studentship shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Managers within a range approved<br />

from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />

PATHOLOGY ENDOWMENT FUND<br />

The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pathology Endowment Fund shall be used for <strong>the</strong> benefit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong><br />

Pathology.<br />

PATHOLOGY PRIZES<br />

1. The sum <strong>of</strong> £175, <strong>the</strong> gift <strong>of</strong> an anonymous donor, in memory <strong>of</strong> Dr Graham P. McCullagh, Dr<br />

A. Max Barrett, and Dr G. Fulton Roberts, shall form a fund to be called <strong>the</strong> Pathology Prize Fund.<br />

2. The capital and income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be at <strong>the</strong> disposal <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Pathology for <strong>the</strong><br />

award, at <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor’s sole discretion, <strong>of</strong> prizes to candidates who have acquitted <strong>the</strong>mselves with<br />

distinction in <strong>the</strong> subject Pathology in Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Natural Sciences Tripos.<br />
