Sir Leon Radzinowicz Visiting Fellowship<br />
1. Not more frequently than every second year, <strong>the</strong> Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sir Leon Radzinowicz<br />
Criminological Fund may elect a Sir Leon Radzinowicz Visiting Fellow.<br />
2. It shall be <strong>the</strong> duty <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sir Leon Radzinowicz Visiting Fellow to prepare, deliver, and discuss<br />
at least two public lectures, to be known as <strong>the</strong> Radzinowicz Lectures, on topics to be agreed with <strong>the</strong><br />
Managers. The lectures shall be within <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> public policy in relation to crime and criminal<br />
justice.<br />
3. In electing each Sir Leon Radzinowicz Visiting Fellow, <strong>the</strong> Managers shall take into account <strong>the</strong><br />
wish <strong>of</strong> Sir Leon Radzinowicz that holders <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fellowship should normally be persons who have<br />
served with distinction in Government, <strong>the</strong> Judiciary, Parliament, or o<strong>the</strong>r public <strong>of</strong>fice in <strong>the</strong> United<br />
Kingdom or elsewhere.<br />
4. No person shall be elected to <strong>the</strong> Sir Leon Radzinowicz Visiting Fellowship on more than one<br />
occasion.<br />
5. The emolument to be provided to each Fellow shall be decided by <strong>the</strong> Managers at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong><br />
each election.<br />
6. Copies <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> text <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Radzinowicz Lectures shall on each occasion be deposited in <strong>the</strong><br />
Radzinowicz Library <strong>of</strong> Criminology, and <strong>the</strong> Library shall maintain a consolidated record <strong>of</strong> all such<br />
Lectures.<br />

J. ARTHUR RAMSAY FUND<br />
1. The royalties accruing from <strong>the</strong> publication in 1977 <strong>of</strong> a book entitled Transport <strong>of</strong> Ions and<br />
Water in Animals in honour <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor J. A. Ramsay shall form a fund, called <strong>the</strong> J. Arthur Ramsay<br />
Fund, which shall be devoted to <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> education and research in Experimental Zoology in<br />
<strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Zoology.<br />
2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Zoology and two <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Zoology who shall be appointed by <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department<br />
in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for two years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment.<br />
3. The income arising from <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers,<br />
and subject to such conditions as <strong>the</strong> Managers may think fit, to make grants as follows:<br />
(a) to assist registered Graduate Students pursuing a course <strong>of</strong> research in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Zoology<br />
to visit laboratories outside <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in connection with <strong>the</strong>ir research;<br />
(b) to assist persons, admitted as Graduate Students to pursue a course <strong>of</strong> research in <strong>the</strong> Department<br />
<strong>of</strong> Zoology, to participate before coming into residence in experimental research under <strong>the</strong><br />
supervision <strong>of</strong> a person normally working within <strong>the</strong> Department or to visit laboratories outside<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in connection with <strong>the</strong>ir research;<br />
(c) to assist candidates for Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Natural Sciences Tripos intending to <strong>of</strong>fer <strong>the</strong> subject<br />
Zoology to participate, in one or more <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> three vacations in <strong>the</strong> twelve months preceding <strong>the</strong><br />
Tripos Examination, in experimental research under <strong>the</strong> supervision <strong>of</strong> a person normally working<br />
within <strong>the</strong> Department.<br />
4. The preceding regulations may be altered by Grace provided that <strong>the</strong> object <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund as<br />
defined in Regulation 1 is adhered to.<br />

RAPSON FUND AND SCHOLARSHIP<br />
1. The bequest to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by <strong>the</strong> late Pr<strong>of</strong>essor E. J. Rapson, M.A., formerly Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />
Sanskrit and Fellow <strong>of</strong> St John’s College, shall form a fund to be called <strong>the</strong> Rapson Fund. The income<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied to provide <strong>the</strong> emolument <strong>of</strong> a scholarship to be called <strong>the</strong> Rapson<br />
Scholarship, for <strong>the</strong> promotion <strong>of</strong> study or research in Indian Studies or Iranian Studies.<br />
2. The Scholarship shall be open to any person who is, or is about to be, registered as a Graduate<br />
Student in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, provided that he or she (a) has successfully completed a course <strong>of</strong> study in<br />
Classics or Oriental Studies at this or ano<strong>the</strong>r university, and (b) intends to follow a course <strong>of</strong> study<br />
or research in a subject falling within <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> Indian Studies or Iranian Studies.<br />
3. Applications for <strong>the</strong> Scholarship shall be sent to <strong>the</strong> Registrary so as to arrive not later than <strong>the</strong><br />
division <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lent Term.
