2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be:<br />

(a) <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(b) <strong>the</strong> Chairman <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(c) <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(d) <strong>the</strong> Director and Curator <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Whipple Museum <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> History <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(e) three persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science, who shall be<br />

appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for three years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

appointment.<br />

3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied by <strong>the</strong> Managers to support research, teaching, and<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r academic activities in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science; applications may<br />

be made throughout <strong>the</strong> year and should be addressed to <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> History<br />

and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science.<br />

4. Any unexpended income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund in any financial year may ei<strong>the</strong>r be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Fund or accumulated for use as income in any one or more subsequent years, as determined by<br />

<strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

PETER LIPTON LECTURESHIP FUND<br />

Grace 1 <strong>of</strong> 9 March 2011<br />

1. The sums received from Dr A. L. Rausing and Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Peter Baldwin, <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cambridge</strong><br />

in America, representing a donation from Mrs Lini Lipton, and Trinity College, to support a <strong>University</strong><br />

Lectureship in memory <strong>of</strong> Peter Lipton, <strong>the</strong> first Hans Rausing Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong><br />

Science, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Peter Lipton Lectureship Fund.<br />

2. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> stipend, national insurance, pension<br />

contributions, and associated indirect costs payable by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in respect <strong>of</strong> a Peter Lipton<br />

Lectureship in History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong><br />

Science.<br />

3. The administration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be under <strong>the</strong> control <strong>of</strong> a Committee <strong>of</strong> Management<br />

consisting <strong>of</strong>:<br />

(a) <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(b) <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(c) <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(d) <strong>the</strong> Director and Curator <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Whipple Museum <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> History <strong>of</strong> Science;<br />

(e) three persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas<br />

Term to serve for three years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment.<br />

4. If one or more <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fices in classes (b)–(d) are held by <strong>the</strong> same person, or if one or more<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se <strong>of</strong>fices is vacant or its tenure has expired, <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> History and Philosophy <strong>of</strong> Science<br />

shall appoint one or more additional Managers so as to ensure that <strong>the</strong>re are always five Managers.<br />

5. After provision has been made in accordance with Regulation 2, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund may be<br />

applied for <strong>the</strong> support <strong>of</strong> teaching or research in <strong>the</strong> history and philosophy <strong>of</strong> science as shall be<br />

approved by <strong>the</strong> General Board on <strong>the</strong> recommendation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

6. Any unexpended income in a financial year shall ei<strong>the</strong>r be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund or<br />

accumulated for use as income in any one or more subsequent years, as <strong>the</strong> Managers may determine.<br />

LITTLETON CHAMBERS PRIZE FOR LABOUR LAW<br />

Grace 1 <strong>of</strong> 24 March 2009<br />

1. The sum made available annually by Littleton Chambers for <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> Labour Law shall be<br />

applied in equal amounts as follows:<br />

(a) to provide a prize called <strong>the</strong> Littleton Chambers Prize for Labour Law, which shall be awarded<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Examiners for Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Law Tripos for distinction in Labour Law shown by<br />

performance in Paper 41 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Law Tripos; and<br />

(b) to fund <strong>the</strong> purchase <strong>of</strong> books for <strong>the</strong> Squire Law Library.<br />

2. If in any year <strong>the</strong> Prize is not awarded, <strong>the</strong> unexpended income for that year shall be added to<br />

<strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund. If sufficient income has accumulated in <strong>the</strong> Fund, <strong>the</strong> Examiners may award<br />

more than one Prize in any year.<br />
