T. H. MIDDLETON FUND<br />

1. The sum received from an anonymous benefactor in 1947 to commemorate <strong>the</strong> work <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late<br />

Sir Thomas Hudson Middleton, Drapers Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Agriculture 1902–07, shall form a fund called<br />

<strong>the</strong> T. H. Middleton Fund.<br />

2. The Fund shall be administered by three Managers who shall be:<br />

(a) <strong>the</strong> Chairman <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Degree Committee for <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> Biology;<br />

(b) <strong>the</strong> Regius Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Botany;<br />

(c) one person appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Biology.<br />

The Manager in class (c) shall be appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for three years from<br />

1 January following his or her appointment. The Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Degree Committee for <strong>the</strong> Faculty<br />

<strong>of</strong> Biology shall act as Secretary to <strong>the</strong> Managers.<br />

3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied by <strong>the</strong> Managers to make grants to enable Graduate<br />

Students working on subjects connected with agriculture to travel for <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> study or research.<br />

4. Any unexpended income in <strong>the</strong> Fund may be ei<strong>the</strong>r added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund or accumulated<br />

for use as income in future years, as <strong>the</strong> Managers may determine.<br />

WILLIAM MILLS LIBRARY ACQUISITIONS FUND<br />

Grace 1 <strong>of</strong> 14 January 2009<br />

1. The sums subscribed in honour <strong>of</strong> William James Mills, M.A., <strong>of</strong> Emmanuel College, Librarian<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scott Polar Research Institute from 1989 to 2004, shall form a William Mills Library Acquisitions<br />

Fund.<br />

2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied for <strong>the</strong> purchase <strong>of</strong> books, periodicals, and maps, in<br />

any format, for <strong>the</strong> library <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scott Polar Research Institute.<br />

3. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> Director and Librarian <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute and one person<br />

appointed by <strong>the</strong> Committee <strong>of</strong> Management <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute to serve for three years from 1 January<br />

following her or his appointment.<br />

4. The Managers shall meet at least once a year to consider <strong>the</strong> needs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute’s library<br />

collections and to apply <strong>the</strong> Fund’s income in fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> its objectives.<br />

5. Any unexpended income in a financial year may be added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund, or<br />

accumulated for use as income in a future year in accordance with <strong>the</strong>se regulations.<br />

GRAEME MINTO PRIZE FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES<br />

1. The sum <strong>of</strong> £5,000 given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by Domino Printing Sciences plc shall form a fund<br />

called <strong>the</strong> Graeme Minto Fund for <strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> Management Studies in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

2. The Fund shall be used to provide a prize called <strong>the</strong> Graeme Minto Prize for Management Studies.<br />

The value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be such sum as shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Business and<br />

Management within a range approved from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />

3. The Prize shall be awarded by <strong>the</strong> Examiners for <strong>the</strong> Management Studies Tripos for an outstanding<br />

performance in that examination.<br />

4. Any unexpended income may be used at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Business and<br />

Management for <strong>the</strong> promotion and encouragement <strong>of</strong> Management Studies in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

PROFESSOR JOSEPH MITCHELL CANCER RESEARCH FUND<br />

1. The sums given and bequea<strong>the</strong>d to Pr<strong>of</strong>essor J. S. Mitchell for <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> research into<br />

human cancer, and received from him by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, shall form a fund for that same purpose, to<br />

be called <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Joseph Mitchell Cancer Research Fund in recognition <strong>of</strong> his contribution to <strong>the</strong><br />

treatment <strong>of</strong> cancer made while he held <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essorship <strong>of</strong> Radio<strong>the</strong>rapeutics and <strong>the</strong> Regius<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essorship <strong>of</strong> Physic during <strong>the</strong> years 1946–76.<br />

2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be: (a) <strong>the</strong> Regius Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Physic; (b) two members<br />

appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Clinical Medicine; (c) one member appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board<br />

<strong>of</strong> Biology; and (d) two members appointed by <strong>the</strong> General Board. Managers in classes (b)–(d) shall<br />

be appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for four years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment.<br />
