FITZWILLIAM MUSEUM ENDOWMENT FUND<br />

The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fitzwilliam Museum Endowment Fund shall be used for <strong>the</strong> benefit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fitzwilliam<br />

Museum.<br />

FORBES FUND<br />

Grace 1 <strong>of</strong> 19 May 2010<br />

1. The gift <strong>of</strong> £2m to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> from Dr Colin Forbes shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Forbes<br />

Fund.<br />

2. The capital and income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied for such purposes in <strong>the</strong> Sedgwick Museum<br />

<strong>of</strong> Earth Sciences as <strong>the</strong> Director and <strong>the</strong> Curators <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Museum and <strong>the</strong> Woodwardian Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />

Geology jointly shall from time to time decide.<br />

3. The Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Museum shall make an Annual Report on <strong>the</strong> outgoings <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund to <strong>the</strong><br />

Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Earth Sciences and Geography.<br />

MAX FORBES FUND<br />

1. The sum <strong>of</strong> £6,000 given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by Mrs E. M. Forbes in memory <strong>of</strong> her husband<br />

Lachlan Maxwell Forbes, <strong>of</strong> King’s College, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Max Forbes Fund.<br />

2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be used, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kettle’s Yard Committee, for <strong>the</strong><br />

promotion <strong>of</strong> concerts given by young musicians at Kettle’s Yard.<br />

FORD OF BRITAIN TRUST FUND<br />

1. The benefaction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Trustees <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ford <strong>of</strong> Britain Trust shall form a fund to be called <strong>the</strong><br />

Ford <strong>of</strong> Britain Trust Fund, which shall be used for <strong>the</strong> benefit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering.<br />

2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be used at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Degree Committee for <strong>the</strong> Faculty<br />

<strong>of</strong> Engineering, and subject to such conditions as <strong>the</strong>y may think fit, for making grants to Graduate<br />

Students in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering.<br />

3. The names <strong>of</strong> persons to whom grants have been awarded, but not <strong>the</strong> amounts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> grants,<br />

shall be published each year. Grants shall be payable in <strong>the</strong> manner determined by <strong>the</strong> Degree<br />

Committee for <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> Engineering.<br />

FORD PHYSIOLOGY FUND<br />

1. The gift <strong>of</strong> $240,000 from <strong>the</strong> Ford Foundation shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Ford Physiology<br />

Fund, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be applied to fur<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> study and dissemination <strong>of</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong><br />

reproduction, especially those aspects that relate to <strong>the</strong> regulation <strong>of</strong> human fertility, by meeting <strong>the</strong><br />

cost <strong>of</strong> one or more <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>fices in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience.<br />

2. The <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>fices referred to in Regulation 1 shall be established by <strong>the</strong> General Board, after<br />

consultation with <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Biology. The whole cost <strong>of</strong> each <strong>of</strong>fice so established shall be<br />

met from <strong>the</strong> Ford Physiology Fund.<br />

3. After provision has been made in accordance with Regulations 1 and 2, any surplus income shall<br />

be applied as <strong>the</strong> General Board, on <strong>the</strong> recommendation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Biology, shall from<br />

time to time decide, to meet expenses associated with any <strong>of</strong>fice established under those regulations.<br />

FOREIGN TRAVEL FUND<br />

Amended by Grace 5 <strong>of</strong> 5 June 2013<br />

1. The sum bequea<strong>the</strong>d to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by <strong>the</strong> late George Walter Grabham, M.A., <strong>of</strong> St John’s<br />

College, shall form <strong>the</strong> nucleus <strong>of</strong> a fund called <strong>the</strong> Foreign Travel Fund which shall be administered<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />

2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be used to assist resident members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Senate who have attained<br />

<strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> fifty years to travel abroad with a view to extending <strong>the</strong>ir knowledge in any branch <strong>of</strong><br />

learning with which <strong>the</strong>ir teaching or research is concerned.<br />
