MORRELL FUND AND LECTURESHIP<br />
1. The sum bequea<strong>the</strong>d to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by <strong>the</strong> late Robert Selby Morrell, Sc.D., sometime Fellow<br />
<strong>of</strong> Gonville and Caius College, shall form a fund to be called <strong>the</strong> Morrell Fund, <strong>the</strong> object <strong>of</strong> which<br />
shall be <strong>the</strong> advancement <strong>of</strong> teaching and research in organic chemistry.<br />
2. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> such stipend and travelling<br />
expenses as may be approved under Regulation 4 for a visiting lecturer.<br />
3. The visiting lecturer, who shall be called <strong>the</strong> Morrell Lecturer, shall be appointed from time to<br />
time by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Physics and Chemistry on <strong>the</strong> recommendation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Department <strong>of</strong> Chemistry, advised by <strong>the</strong> BP Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Chemistry.<br />
4. The duties <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lecturer shall be determined, at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> appointment, by <strong>the</strong> General Board<br />
on <strong>the</strong> recommendation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Chemistry, provided that a Lecturer shall<br />
normally spend not less than three weeks in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Chemistry and shall deliver at least<br />
four lectures consistent with <strong>the</strong> object <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund. Taking into account <strong>the</strong> duties so determined <strong>the</strong><br />
stipend <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lecturer and <strong>the</strong> allowance to be paid for travelling expenses shall be determined by<br />
<strong>the</strong> General Board at <strong>the</strong> same time and on <strong>the</strong> same recommendation.<br />
5. Any unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong> Fund may be used at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Chemistry, advised by <strong>the</strong> BP Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Chemistry, for <strong>the</strong> promotion <strong>of</strong> teaching<br />
or research in organic chemistry.<br />

ROGER MORRIS PRIZES IN MEDICINE AND SURGERY<br />
1. The sums given by Roger Brian Morris, M.A., Ph.D., <strong>of</strong> Clare College, shall form a fund for <strong>the</strong><br />
purpose <strong>of</strong> awarding prizes in Medicine and in Surgery to candidates for Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Final M.B.<br />
Examination.<br />
2. The title <strong>of</strong> each Prize shall be <strong>the</strong> Roger Morris Prize in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.<br />
3. The Prizes shall be awarded each year to <strong>the</strong> candidates who are judged by <strong>the</strong> Regius Pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />
<strong>of</strong> Physic to have shown <strong>the</strong> greatest distinction in <strong>the</strong> clinical aspects <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Final M.B. Part II<br />
Examinations held in that academical year.<br />
4. The value <strong>of</strong> each Prize shall be one half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />
5. If in any year a Prize is not awarded <strong>the</strong> appropriate portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> income for that year shall be<br />
added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />

BRITA MORTENSEN FUND<br />
1. The moneys subscribed by <strong>the</strong> friends <strong>of</strong> Brita Mortensen, <strong>University</strong> Lecturer in Swedish, who<br />
died in 1958, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Brita Mortensen Fund <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be used to<br />
provide grants to enable undergraduates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cambridge</strong> to visit Scandinavia in order<br />
to study <strong>the</strong> culture, literature, and arts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scandinavian countries.<br />
2. The Fund shall be administered by <strong>the</strong> Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scandinavian Studies Fund.<br />
3. In <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term <strong>the</strong> Registrary shall publish a Notice inviting applications for grants<br />
from <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />
4. Any candidate for <strong>the</strong> B.A. Degree shall be eligible to receive a grant from <strong>the</strong> Fund provided<br />
that he or she intends to make use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> grant before completing <strong>the</strong> examination requirements for<br />
that degree.<br />
5. Applications must be submitted through a candidate’s Tutor to <strong>the</strong> Registrary so as to arrive not<br />
later than 1 June, and must be accompanied by a description <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> travel which <strong>the</strong> candidate proposes
