GOW FUND<br />
1. The sum received by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> under <strong>the</strong> Will <strong>of</strong> A. S. F. Gow, M.A., Fellow <strong>of</strong> Trinity<br />
College, Emeritus Brereton Reader in Classics, shall form a fund to be called <strong>the</strong> Gow Fund. Twothirds<br />
<strong>of</strong> that sum shall be invested as a purchase fund, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be available for <strong>the</strong><br />
purchase <strong>of</strong> works <strong>of</strong> art for <strong>the</strong> Fitzwilliam Museum, and one-third shall form a general fund <strong>the</strong><br />
capital or income <strong>of</strong> which shall be available for any purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Museum including <strong>the</strong> purchase<br />
<strong>of</strong> works <strong>of</strong> art or building work.<br />
2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> Fitzwilliam Museum Syndicate.<br />

GRAHAM-SMITH FUND<br />
1. The bequest <strong>of</strong> Dr G. S. Graham-Smith shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Graham-Smith Fund which<br />
shall in accordance with <strong>the</strong> terms <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Will <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> benefactor be used for any purpose connected<br />
with <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Pathology or for <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> any Department or o<strong>the</strong>r institution which may<br />
develop <strong>the</strong>refrom more especially if it is devoted to <strong>the</strong> science <strong>of</strong> bacteriology.<br />
2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Pathology and <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Biological Sciences. If <strong>the</strong> Managers fail to agree on <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund in any instance <strong>the</strong><br />
matter shall be referred to <strong>the</strong> Regius Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Physic for a ruling.<br />
3. The capital and income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied from time to time at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Managers, and subject to such conditions as <strong>the</strong>y may think fit, to any purpose consistent with<br />
Regulation 1.<br />
J.H. GRAY FUND<br />
The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> J. H. Gray Fund, which was established by a gift from <strong>the</strong> funds <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Cambridge</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong> Rugby Union Football Club, shall be available to <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Classics to meet <strong>the</strong><br />
expense <strong>of</strong> lectures, or courses <strong>of</strong> lectures, on subjects not adequately provided for by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />
Education Fund. In accordance with <strong>the</strong> express wishes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> benefactor <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board shall have<br />
wide discretion in <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> income, provided that it shall not be used to subvent lectures ordinarily<br />
included in <strong>the</strong> Lecture-list.<br />

1. The sum bequea<strong>the</strong>d to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by Mrs Margaret Green in memory <strong>of</strong> her husband<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Dennis Howard Green, sometime Schröder Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> German and Fellow <strong>of</strong> Trinity<br />
College, toge<strong>the</strong>r with o<strong>the</strong>r funds received for <strong>the</strong> same purpose, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong><br />
D. H. Green Fund, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> which shall be used, subject to <strong>the</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> Regulation 5, for<br />
<strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> medieval German studies, which for <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se regulations shall be<br />
understood to mean <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> medieval German literature and <strong>the</strong> history <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> German language<br />
in <strong>the</strong> medieval period.<br />
2. The Fund shall be administered by a Board <strong>of</strong> Managers consisting <strong>of</strong>:<br />
(a) <strong>the</strong> Schröder Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> German;<br />
(b) <strong>the</strong> holders <strong>of</strong> any o<strong>the</strong>r Pr<strong>of</strong>essorships in German established in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> German and<br />
Dutch;<br />
(c) three persons appointed by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Modern and Medieval Languages in <strong>the</strong><br />
Michaelmas Term to serve for three years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment, provided<br />
that <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board shall, as far as possible, appoint persons whose field <strong>of</strong> study falls within<br />
<strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> medieval German studies.<br />
3. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> a Prize which shall be<br />
awarded annually by <strong>the</strong> Examiners for Part II <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos for an<br />
outstanding year abroad project or dissertation on a subject in medieval German language or literature<br />
submitted under Regulation 27(b) or(c) for <strong>the</strong> Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos. The value<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prize shall be determined by <strong>the</strong> Managers, within a range approved from time to time by <strong>the</strong><br />
Council.
