Grace 1 <strong>of</strong> 12 March 2008<br />
1. The sum <strong>of</strong> £1.1m received by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> to support teaching and research in Gender Studies,<br />
toge<strong>the</strong>r with o<strong>the</strong>r sums received for <strong>the</strong> same purpose, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Gender Studies<br />
Fund.<br />
2. The administration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be under <strong>the</strong> control <strong>of</strong> a Committee <strong>of</strong> Management<br />
consisting <strong>of</strong>:<br />
(a) <strong>the</strong> Chairman <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Earth Sciences and Geography, who shall be Chairman;<br />
(b) one person appointed by each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Councils <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Schools <strong>of</strong> Arts and Humanities, <strong>the</strong><br />
Biological Sciences, Clinical Medicine, <strong>the</strong> Humanities and Social Sciences, <strong>the</strong> Physical Sciences,<br />
and Technology;<br />
(c) <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Geography;<br />
(d) <strong>the</strong> person designated as Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Centre for Gender Studies in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong><br />
Geography;<br />
(e) one person who is not a resident member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> appointed by <strong>the</strong> General Board to<br />
represent <strong>the</strong> national or international gender studies community;<br />
(f) not more than two members co-opted by <strong>the</strong> Committee, provided that it shall not be obligatory<br />
for <strong>the</strong> Committee to co-opt any person or persons.<br />
3. Members in classes (b) and (e) shall be appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term to serve for three<br />
years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment. Members in class (f) shall serve until 31 December<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> year in which <strong>the</strong>y are co-opted or <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> year next following, as <strong>the</strong> Committee shall determine<br />
at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir co-optation.<br />
4. The Committee shall meet at least three times a year.<br />
5. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> stipend, national insurance, pension contributions, and<br />
associated indirect costs payable by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in respect <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> Lecturer in Gender<br />
Studies in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Geography.<br />
6. Any unexpended income in a financial year, and such portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund as shall<br />
be determined by <strong>the</strong> Committee <strong>of</strong> Management, shall be applied, in any manner that <strong>the</strong> Committee<br />
shall determine, to support <strong>the</strong> study and teaching <strong>of</strong> Gender Studies in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> and to cooperate<br />
with outside bodies in <strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> gender research more generally.<br />

GENZYME FUND FOR CLINICAL NEUROSCIENCES<br />
1. The sums to be received from <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cambridge</strong> in America, representing a donation from<br />
<strong>the</strong> Genzyme Corporation, to support <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> Neuroimmunology shall form a fund to be called<br />
<strong>the</strong> Genzyme Fund for Clinical Neurosciences.<br />
2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be:<br />
(a) <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Clinical Neurosciences,<br />
(b) one person appointed by <strong>the</strong> Council <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Clinical Medicine,<br />
(c) one person appointed by <strong>the</strong> General Board.<br />
The Managers in classes (b) and (c) shall be appointed in <strong>the</strong> Michaelmas Term for a period <strong>of</strong> three<br />
years from 1 January following <strong>the</strong>ir appointment.<br />
3. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> payment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> stipend, national insurance, pension<br />
contributions, and associated indirect costs payable by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in respect <strong>of</strong> a <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficer<br />
concerned with teaching and research in Neuroimmunology established in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Clinical<br />
Neurosciences.<br />
4. Any unexpended income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund in any financial year may, at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers,<br />
be ei<strong>the</strong>r added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund, or accumulated for use as income in any one or more<br />
subsequent years, or applied to support research in <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Clinical Neurosciences.<br />
5. In exceptional circumstances <strong>the</strong> Managers may, subject to <strong>the</strong> approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> General Board,<br />
use such part or parts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund as <strong>the</strong>y shall determine to support <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong>ficer referred to in Regulation 3 or for any o<strong>the</strong>r purpose as set out in Regulation 4 above.
