(b) to purchase books for <strong>the</strong> library <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> Music;<br />

(c) to assist in any o<strong>the</strong>r way <strong>the</strong> advancement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> music in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>;<br />

(d) to make grants for purposes connected with music in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

DONALD WORT FUND II<br />

1. The sum given to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by <strong>the</strong> Trustees <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late Donald Arthur Wort, M.A., <strong>of</strong> Hughes<br />

Hall and Corpus Christi College, shall form a fund called <strong>the</strong> Donald Wort Fund II, <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong><br />

which shall be used for <strong>the</strong> support <strong>of</strong> music making in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

2. The Managers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Music, who may delegate some or all<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir functions under <strong>the</strong>se regulations to a Committee not necessarily consisting wholly <strong>of</strong> members<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board.<br />

3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be applied at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers to facilitate music<br />

making in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by any or all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following means:<br />

(a) by <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> group coaching in instrumental playing or in singing for members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>University</strong> in statu pupillari;<br />

(b) by <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> grants to support concerts or o<strong>the</strong>r musical events arranged by <strong>the</strong> Faculty<br />

Board <strong>of</strong> Music or by <strong>University</strong> or College musical societies, or by groups <strong>of</strong> individuals;<br />

(c) by such o<strong>the</strong>r means as <strong>the</strong> Managers may think fit.<br />

4. Any unexpended income may be ei<strong>the</strong>r added to <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund or accumulated for use<br />

as income in future years, as <strong>the</strong> Managers may determine.<br />

WORTS TRAVELLING SCHOLARS FUND<br />

1. The Worts Travelling Scholars Fund shall be at <strong>the</strong> disposal <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> General Board for making<br />

grants for <strong>the</strong> promotion or encouragement <strong>of</strong> investigations in countries outside Great Britain respecting<br />

<strong>the</strong> religion, learning, law, politics, customs, manner and rarities, natural or artificial, <strong>of</strong> those countries,<br />

or for purposes <strong>of</strong> geographical discovery or <strong>of</strong> antiquarian or scientific research in such countries,<br />

subject to any conditions as to publication <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> investigations which may be laid down at<br />

<strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> making <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> grant.<br />

2. Grants shall be confined to members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>. They may be made without regard to <strong>the</strong><br />

standing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> applicant. 1<br />

3. Each grant shall be paid on <strong>the</strong> application <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> person concerned or <strong>of</strong> a person designated<br />

for <strong>the</strong> purpose, in <strong>the</strong> financial year in which it is approved after a Notice <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> grants made for that<br />

year has appeared in <strong>the</strong> Reporter.<br />

4. Each recipient <strong>of</strong> a grant shall send to <strong>the</strong> Registrary a short report <strong>of</strong> his or her investigations<br />

as soon as practicable after returning to this country.<br />

WRENBURY SCHOLARSHIP FUND 2<br />

Deed Poll sealed on 5 August 1974 under Grace 3 <strong>of</strong> 24 July 1974<br />

This declaration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> trusts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Wrenbury Scholarship Fund is made by THE CHANCELLOR MASTERS AND<br />

SCHOLARS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE (hereinafter called ‘<strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>’) with <strong>the</strong> consent and approval<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Right Honourable JOHN BURTON BARON WRENBURY (hereinafter called ‘Lord Wrenbury’).<br />

Whereas this Deed is supplemental to an Indenture (hereinafter called ‘<strong>the</strong> Principal Deed’) dated <strong>the</strong> 22nd day<br />

<strong>of</strong> March 1918 and made between Henry Burton <strong>the</strong> first Baron Wrenbury (hereinafter called ‘<strong>the</strong> first Baron’),<br />

Robert Burton Buckley, Albert Charles Clauson and Bryan Burton Buckley <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> one part and <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r part whereby certain trusts were declared for <strong>the</strong> endowment and advancement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> Political<br />

Economy, is also supplemental to a Deed Poll dated <strong>the</strong> 5th day <strong>of</strong> May 1928 and made by <strong>the</strong> first Baron and<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> whereby o<strong>the</strong>r trusts for <strong>the</strong> same object were substituted for <strong>the</strong> trusts declared by <strong>the</strong> Principal<br />

Deed, and is also supplemental to a Deed Poll dated <strong>the</strong> 2nd day <strong>of</strong> July 1949 (hereinafter called ‘<strong>the</strong> Principal<br />

Deed Poll’) and made by Lord Wrenbury and <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> whereby o<strong>the</strong>r trusts for <strong>the</strong> same object are<br />

substituted for <strong>the</strong> trusts declared by <strong>the</strong> Principal Deed and by <strong>the</strong> said Deed Poll dated <strong>the</strong> 5th day <strong>of</strong> May<br />

Although Regulation 2 allows grants to be made without regard to <strong>the</strong> standing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> applicant <strong>the</strong> General Board have<br />

given notice that <strong>the</strong>y will give preference to candidates below <strong>the</strong> standing <strong>of</strong> Master <strong>of</strong> Arts.<br />
