10. The Student shall receive a stipend <strong>of</strong> £50, which shall be paid not later than <strong>the</strong> thirtieth day<br />
following <strong>the</strong> election, and such additional stipend within <strong>the</strong> annual income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund as <strong>the</strong><br />
Managers shall determine in each case after taking account <strong>of</strong> any o<strong>the</strong>r financial resources that may<br />
be available to <strong>the</strong> Student. The additional stipend shall be paid to <strong>the</strong> Student in two equal instalments<br />
not later than <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Full Michaelmas Term and <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Full Lent Term following <strong>the</strong><br />
election; provided that <strong>the</strong> second instalment shall not be paid till <strong>the</strong> Managers have received from<br />
<strong>the</strong> Student a report on his or her work for <strong>the</strong> past half-year.<br />
11. Any income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund not used for <strong>the</strong> emoluments <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Studentship may at <strong>the</strong> discretion<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Managers be used in making grants to students or <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers or o<strong>the</strong>r persons employed<br />
by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> or Fellows <strong>of</strong> Colleges in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> for <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>rance <strong>of</strong> studies in Norway.<br />
12. These regulations shall be subject to alteration by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, provided that <strong>the</strong> income <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> Fund shall always be devoted to <strong>the</strong> endowment <strong>of</strong> a Studentship, called <strong>the</strong> Tennant Studentship,<br />
for <strong>the</strong> encouragement <strong>of</strong> studies in Norway by students <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

THALMANN BEQUEST<br />
1. The investments representing <strong>the</strong> bequest to <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by Rene Hugo Thalmann for <strong>the</strong><br />
provision <strong>of</strong> scholarships shall be divided equally to form two funds to be known as <strong>the</strong> Thalmann<br />
Overseas Fund and <strong>the</strong> Thalmann European Fund.<br />
2. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Thalmann Overseas Fund and any unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong><br />
Fund shall be available for expenditure by <strong>the</strong> Trustees <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Cambridge</strong> Overseas Trust for <strong>the</strong><br />
provision <strong>of</strong> scholarships tenable in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by students resident in or educated in countries<br />
overseas. In accordance with <strong>the</strong> wishes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> benefactor, <strong>the</strong> Trustees, with <strong>the</strong> approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Council, may authorize expenditure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> whole or part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Thalmann Overseas Fund<br />
on <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> such scholarships.<br />
3. The income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Thalmann European Fund and any unexpended income accumulated in <strong>the</strong><br />
Fund shall be available for expenditure by <strong>the</strong> Council for <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> scholarships tenable in <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong> by students resident in or educated in European countries. The Council may delegate <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
functions under this regulation to a Committee.<br />
4. In accordance with <strong>the</strong> wishes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> benefactor <strong>the</strong> Council may authorize expenditure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
whole or part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Thalmann European Fund on <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> scholarships tenable<br />
in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> by students resident in or educated in European countries.<br />

THEOLOGICAL STUDIES FUND<br />
1. The Theological Studies Fund, established in accordance with Statute E, XXX, 9 shall be<br />
administered by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board <strong>of</strong> Divinity, who may delegate some or all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir functions under<br />
<strong>the</strong>se regulations to a committee not necessarily consisting wholly <strong>of</strong> members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board.<br />
2. The first charge on <strong>the</strong> Fund shall be <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> prizes for distinguished work submitted by<br />
candidates for <strong>the</strong> Theological and Religious Studies Tripos, for <strong>the</strong> examination in Theology and<br />
Religious Studies for <strong>the</strong> M.Phil. Degree, or for <strong>the</strong> examination for <strong>the</strong> Advanced Diploma in Theology<br />
and Religious Studies.<br />
3. The Examiners for Parts IIA and IIB <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Theological and Religious Studies Tripos, <strong>the</strong><br />
Examiners for <strong>the</strong> examination in Theology and Religious Studies for <strong>the</strong> M.Phil. Degree, and <strong>the</strong><br />
Examiners for <strong>the</strong> Advanced Diploma in Theology and Religious Studies shall have power to award<br />
prizes, to be called Theological Studies Prizes, for a distinguished performance in any part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
examination with which <strong>the</strong>y are concerned. The value <strong>of</strong> a Prize shall be such sum not exceeding <strong>the</strong><br />
available income <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund as may be determined by <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board within a range approved<br />
from time to time by <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />
4. After provision has been made for <strong>the</strong> award <strong>of</strong> Theological Studies Prizes in accordance with<br />
Regulations 2 and 3, any unexpended income or capital <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund may be applied, at <strong>the</strong> discretion<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty Board:<br />
(a) to provide grants to enable students who are in need <strong>of</strong> financial assistance to engage in <strong>the</strong><br />
study <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ology in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> or elsewhere;<br />
(b) to provide lectures on <strong>the</strong>ological subjects in <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> with special (but not exclusive)<br />
reference to <strong>the</strong> fields <strong>of</strong> study associated with <strong>the</strong> Carus, Evans, Hebrew, Jeremie, Kaye,<br />
Scholefield, and George Williams Prizes;
