บ้านเรือนถิ่นไทยในช่วงเจ็ดทศวรรษ 2489-2559

พรรคเพื่อไทย ผู้สืบทอดพรรคไทยรักไทยในอดีต
ได้รับคะแนนเสียง 222 จาก 480 ที่นั่ง ซึ่งไม่ยากเลยที่
พวกเขาจะชักชวนพรรคเล็กๆ ที่ไม่ใช่พรรคประชาธิปัตย์

แพงขึ้นมากโดยเฉพาะราคาข้าวสาร ตลอดหลายปีที่
ผ่านมา สัดส่วนค่าข้าวสารในงบประมาณของผู้บริโภค
ลดลงเหลือไม่ถึง 5 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ดังนั้นเมื่อราคาข้าวสาร
พุ่งขึ้นตอนต้น พ.ศ. 2551 รัฐบาลนายสมัครจึงต้องเพิ่ม
ค่าใช้จ่ายในการแทรกแซงราคาข้าวขึ้นสูงกว่าเดิมที่ก็
สูงมากเป็นประวัติการณ์อยู่แล้ว ตัวนายสมัครเองเป็น
นักการเมืองในพื้นที่กรุงเทพมาตลอดชีวิต แต่ก็จำเป็น

as more of a caretaker regime to hold the fort until a
constitution was passed and new elections were called.
The government attempted little and therefore achieved
little. It cleared up some of Thaksin’s offbudget expenditures
that were parked around in the banks and other places.
It also cleared out the massive holdings of the rice stocks,
and brought the rice price support down nearer to the
market level. The military-appointed National Legislative
Assembly passed some worthwhile laws, for example, the
new Bank of Thailand Act mentioned earlier, plus the
accompanying Deposit Insurance Institute Act and a new
Commercial Bank Act.
An “achievement” of this regime was to bring forward
the trials brought against the political parties active in
the previous regime. Both the main government party at
the time (Thai Rak Thai) and the opposition Democrats
were tried for irregularities during the April 2006 elections.
The Thai Rak Thai was found guilty, but the Democrat
party was acquitted. A questionable stipulation of the new

3.4 ถึงทีของพรรคประชาธิปัตย์...และเสื้อแดง
law enacted by the military regime, and applied retroactively,
is that when a party is found guilty of any wrongdoing, and
if that wrongdoing is known even to a single member of
the executive committee of the party, the entire executive
committee is deemed to be collectively responsible for the
wrongdoing and is deprived of the right to hold any political
post for the next 5 years. In the case of the Thai Rak Thai,
the charge was leveled at only one member of the executive
committee, but as a result of the provision of the new law,
the entire committee was automatically guilty. Thus, in one
fell swoop, 111 leaders of Thaksin’s party were banned
from taking office for the following 5 years.
The main achievement of this coup regime was to
frame yet another constitution, Thailand’s seventeenth in
75 years.
3.2 The 2007 Constitution
The new constitution, drafted by the Constituent
Assembly which was separate from the Legislative Assembly,
differed from the old one in several respects:
