บ้านเรือนถิ่นไทยในช่วงเจ็ดทศวรรษ 2489-2559

อาคารพักอาศัยซึ่งสร้างขึ้นอย่างทันสมัยในแบบ
สถาปัตยกรรมสมัยใหม่ราวปลายรัชสมัยรัชกาลที่ 7
ได้แก่ วังอัศวิน ซึ่งเป็นสัญญาณบ่งชี้ถึงสิ่งที่จะเกิด
ขึ้นในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 9 เมื่อสังคมไทยพัฒนามาเป็น
สังคมทุนนิยม/อุตสาหกรรม ชนชั้นกลางเติบโตขึ้น
บ้านพักอาศัยในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 9 ในภาพรวมก็คือบ้านของ
ชนชั้นกลาง ซึ่งใช้ชีวิตทันสมัยอยู่ในบ้านแบบตะวันตก
อีกทั้งยังเป็นพลังสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจและ
การเมืองในสังคมไทย
made its first appearance in Siam as a public building with
Chalermkrung Theatre which was built circa 1932. As for
residential buildings, Tamnak Yai, the main residence at
Asawin Palace, was one of the first houses built according
to the Modernist language around the late period of Rama
VII. This building therefore was a forerunner of what was
to follow and an indication of the growing capitalism along
with the growth of the middle class sector that became the
steering mechanism of the modern Thai society. These
people have adopted the western way of life and lived in
western style houses which became the dominant style that
prevailed during the subsequent period of King Rama IX.

เป็นผู้จัดตกแต่งพระที่นั่งทุกห้อง และให้มีหน้าที่ดูแลรักษาพระที่นั่ง
องค์นี้ต่อไปด้วย
6- ใน พ.ศ. 2445 โปรดเกล้าฯ ให้เจ้าหมื่นสรรพเพธภักดีเป็นผู้รับ
ผิดชอบในการดำเนินงานก่อสร้างสวนดุสิต (ซึ่งจะเป็นพระราชวัง
ต่อไป) แต่เพียงผู้เดียว และทรงจ้างนายเยนกินส์ ชาวอังกฤษเป็น
ผู้ช่วยในการเพาะปลูกต้นไม้ และทำสวนแบบฝรั่ง
ในเดือนพฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2446 พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้า
เจ้าอยู่หัวได้พระราชทานเลื่อนบรรดาศักดิ์ให้เจ้าหมื่นสรรพเพธภักดี
(นพ ไกรฤกษ์ อายุ 29 ปี) เป็นพระยาบุรุษรัตนราชพัลลภ จางวาง
มหาดเล็ก (the Lord Great Chamberlain) , อ้างจาก “บุรุษรัตน”,

7- ตามที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวได้ทรงบัญญัติว่า
พระเจ้าแผ่นดินที่ลาออกจากราชสมบัติ และยังทรงดำรงพระชนม์ชีพ

title of Phraya Burutratana Rajphanlop, the Lord Great Chamberlain.
