นี้เพราะไปบังคับมันให้เป็น developmental space
ทีนี้ปัญหาที่ตามมาก็คือ แล้วสิ่งที่เคยอยู่มาก่อนไม่ได้
อยู่บน space พวกนี้นะ แต่อยู่บน living space เป็น
พื้นที่ชีวิตของเขา อะไรเป็นพื้นที่ชีวิตของเขาอันนี้เลย
น่าสนใจ เวลาที่ผมเขียนในบทความ เมื่อกษัตริย์อเล็ก
ซานเดอร์มหาราชถาม พระองค์ถามหา “living space”
อันนั้นเป็นการออกแบบ space ตามภาพของราชามหา
กษัตริย์ หรืออาณาจักรที่เขาคิด ก็เหมือนกับแผนการ
พัฒนาพื้นที่ของรัฐเช่นกัน ซึ่งในที่สุดแล้วปัญหาที่ตาม
มาก็คือ แล้วคนจะอยู่อย่างไร จะเป็นอย่างไรเมื่อเวลาที่
คุณไม่ได้สนใจหรือสนใจแต่วางเกณฑ์ไปโดยไม่ได้คิดถึง
ผู้คนแบบนี้ก็เลยเกิดปัญหามากมาย เพราะฉะนั้นบ้านใน
บริบทของแผนพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจอาจจะไม่ใช่สิ่งซึ่งรองรับ
แผนพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจ แต่เป็นร่องรอยแห่งการต่อสู้กับ
แผนพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจก็ได้ด้วยนะครับ แต่ส่วนมากมักจะ
พ่ายแพ้ เพราะฉะนั้นคำถามในเชิงวิชาสถาปัตยกรรม
คือ ถ้าอย่างนั้นสถาปนิกควรตัดสินใจเรื่องนี้อย่างไรใน
การวางทั้งหมดนี้เป็น developmental space แล้วทำ
อย่างนั้นหรือทำอย่างอื่น อะไรเป็นตัวกำหนด หรือถ้า
พูดก็คือ อะไรเป็นอิทธิพลที่เบียดมันอยู่ เพราะมีทั้งรัฐ
และทุนกำกับโลกแห่งการทำงานสถาปัตย์อยู่ สถาปนิก
จะทำอย่างไร จะวางตำแหน่งอย่างไรให้ living space
ยังอยู่ใน place เดิม
อาจารย์กิจโชติ: มันมีเรื่องของ place แล้วก็เรื่อง
ของ space กับ time ที่มันเปลี่ยนแปลงไป ในความ
คิดเห็นของผมนั้น มันเหมือนกับว่าภายในระยะเวลา
70 ปี (พ.ศ. 2489 - 2559) มันน่าจะพอมีวิธีการในการ
กำหนดตำแหน่งหรือพอจะแจกแจงแบ่งกาลานุกรมได้
อย่างไรบ้างหรือไม่ครับ
อาจารย์ชัยวัฒน์: ในช่วง 70 ปีนั้นมีความน่าสนใจ
ในตัวเอง พอเราเอาช่วงพระชนม์ชีพของรัชกาลที่ 9
ช่วงเวลาที่พระองค์ท่านอยู่ในรัชสมัยเป็นตัวตั้ง สิ่งที่เรา
เห็นก็คือความเปลี่ยนแปลงที่อยู่ในมิติของเวลา 70 ปี
ซึ่งยาวนานประมาณ 3 ช่วงอายุคน อย่างประโยค
“ฉันเกิดในรัชกาลที่ 9” ประโยคนี้คำว่า “ฉัน” เป็นคน
อายุ 2 ขวบก็ได้ เป็นคนอายุ 63 ก็ได้ เกิดในตอนต้น
รัชกาลก็ได้ ตอนกลางก็ได้ เกิดตอนท้ายรัชกาลก็ได้
วิธีที่ประชาชนปฏิสัมพันธ์กับรัชสมัยก็ไม่เหมือนกัน
ในสมัยที่พระองค์ท่านยังทรงศึกษาอยู่ก็เป็นอย่างหนึ่ง
ตอนเริ่มเสด็จนิวัติพระนครก็เป็นอย่างหนึ่ง ตอนเสด็จ

in a developmental context brings about a different
type of houses. Commercial buildings become people’s
homes. The concept of urban and rural areas and all
sorts of conditions have to be taken into account.
This is because we force ourselves to look at it as
developmental space. Then what about things that
are not a part of this so-called developmental space
but exist in the living space. What is a living space?
Alexander the Great once used the word “living
space”. Space in the king’s point of view is also a
kind of state’s developmental space. The problem of
this type of perception is how do people live in that
context? What happens if people are ignored. Of
course, all sorts of problems will follow. So sometimes
a house is not necessarily a satisfactory product of
the economic development plan, but a trace of its
combat with such a plan. Often times, it loses. The
question is how should architecture approach this
idea of developmental space? What are the influential
factors? In the world driven by state authority and
capitalism, how can architects make sure that the
living space and living place co-exist?
Quijxote: Besides the issue of place and space,
there is also a matter of time and its evolution during
the past 70 years. Is there a way to define it in
chronological manner?
Chaiwat: The 70 -year reign is a very interesting
period of time. We’ve seen so many changes taking
place during the time. 70 years covers the span of about
three generations. The phrase “I was born during the
reign of King Rama IX” is itself problematic. Because
