2 — วิกฤตน้ำมันครั้งที่ 1 เกิดขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2516 เป็นช่วงที่เศรษฐกิจ
โลกเริ่มขยายตัว ทำให้ความต้องการใช้น้ำมันมีมากขึ้น ลดปริมาณการ
ผลิต รวมถึงเงื่อนไขของสงครามเร่งให้ราคาน้ำมันสูงขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว
3 — รัฐบาลสมัยพลเอกเปรม ติณสูลานนท์ (นายกรัฐมนตรี คนที่ 16
ระหว่าง 3 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2523 - 4 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2531) มีนายสม
หมาย ฮุนตระกูล เป็นรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการคลัง เข้าฟื้นฟูภาวะ
วิกฤตเศรษฐกิจ ทำให้เศรษฐกิจไทยโดยเฉลี่ยเติบโตขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง
ตั้งแต่ในพ.ศ. 2529 อยู่ในระดับร้อยละ 5.5 และก้าวกระโดดใน พ.ศ.
2530 เป็นร้อยละ 9.5 และกลายเป็นเลข 2 หลัก (double-digit) ในระ
หว่างพ.ศ. 2531 - 2533 เฉลี่ยร้อยละ 12.2 (อ้างถึงใน บริษัท ศูนย์วิจัย
ไทยพาณิชย์ จำกัด (2541) หน้า 1.)
4 — เกิดขึ้น พ.ศ. 2540 เมื่อรัฐบาล ตัดสินใจลอยตัวค่าเงินบาท
ทำให้ค่าเงินบาทลดลงอย่างมาก สาเหตุของวิกฤตทางเศรษฐกิจที่เริ่ม
ก่อตัวมาเป็นเวลาหลายปี ท้ายที่สุดส่งผลให้เกิดการขาดดุลทางบัญชี
ของไทย ปัญหาหนี้ต่างประเทศ การลงทุนเกินตัวในธุรกิจ
อสังหาริมทรัพย์ การดำเนินนโยบายทางการเงินขาดประสิทธิภาพ รวม
ถึงการถูกโจมตีค่าเงินบาทไทย ผลคือทำให้เกิดภาวะหนี้มหาศาล ก่อน
จะเริ่มฟื้นตัวในเวลาต่อมา

2 — The first oil crisis occurred in 1973 when the world economy
began to expand. The demand for oil was increasing. The reduce
in production including the war conditions, accelerated the oil price
to rose rapidly.
3 — In the cabinet of General Prem Tinsulanonda (16th Prime
Minister, during March 3, 1980 - August 4, 1988), Mr. Sommai
Hoontrakun was appointed as Minister of Finance to cope with
economic crisis. On the average, Thai economy grew steadily
since 1986, at 5.5 percent, and in 1987 it rose to 9.5 percent and
reached a double-digits growth. During 1988 - 1990 average
growth rate was 12.2% (Cited in SCB Re-search Center, 1998,
page 1.)
4 — It was in 1997, when the government decided to manipulated
Thai currency. Thai currency weakened significantly. The cause
of Thai economy crisis formed for years culminating in Thailand’s
account deficit, foreign debt problems, excessive investment in
real estate business, ineffective implementation of financial policy
including attack on the Thai currency. This resulted in huge debts
before the economy started to recover later.
