บ้านเรือนถิ่นไทยในช่วงเจ็ดทศวรรษ 2489-2559

คณะทำงานได้ส่งบัตรเชิญออกไปจำนวนสองหมื่น
ใบเพื่อเรียนเชิญผู้ที่ให้ความสนใจได้เสนอชื่อบ้านที่
น่าจะได้รับการรวบรวมเอาไว้อยู่ในหนังสือเข้ามา เพื่อ
เป็นการรวบรวมข้อมูลและกำหนดขนาดขอบเขตของ
การวิจัย ถึงแม้จำนวนบ้านที่ส่งกลับมาจะน้อย แต่
ความหลากหลายในชนิดของบ้านนั้นน่าสนใจมาก
ในส่วนของนัยยะเชิงภูมิศาสตร์ ก็มีบ้านที่ตั้งอยู่ใน
พื้นที่ห่างไกลที่งานวิจัยอื่นๆ ยังครอบคลุมไปไม่ถึง
ในบรรดาบ้านน้อยหลังที่ส่งเข้ามา เราได้พบบ้านที่
เอาชนะข้อจำกัดทางภูมิประเทศ บ้านที่ใช้ประโยชน์
20,000 invitation cards were given out. The objective
is not only to accumulate collective data but also to define
the boundary of this research. Although there is minimal
feedback of informed cases by the public, but in terms
of typology of the houses, the research gains substantial
information on categories of these houses. Also, on the
notion of geography, despite little number of informed
cases, there are case studies from far and remote area
where conventional research could not reach yet. From
that small number, there is are house that overcame their
constraints of topographical conditions. There are houses
that applied local conditions into, especially on, their uses
จากสภาพแวดล้อมในท้องถิ่น โดยเฉพาะวัสดุที่หาได้ใน
พื้นที่เพื่อแก้ปัญหาเรื่องภูมิอากาศ และสุดท้ายคือบ้านที่
ไม่ได้ใช้สถาปนิก แต่ตัวผู้อยู่อาศัยเป็นผู้ออกแบบเอง
บ้านที่ใช้ผู้รับเหมาท้องถิ่นเพราะอยู่ในพื้นที่ห่างไกล ไม่มี
สถาปนิก หรือสถาปนิกไปไม่ได้ด้วยเหตุผลบางประการ
อีกทั้งยังขยายผลให้ครอบคลุมประเด็นและเนื้อหา
เรื่องภูมิศาสตร์และภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรมของบ้าน ความ
หลากหลายของบ้านที่เป็นผลมาจากปัจจัยในการอยู่
อาศัยมากกว่าคำนึงถึงเรื่องรูปแบบในเชิงการออกแบบ
เป็นหลัก ทำให้กรอบของงานวิจัยนี้กว้างขวางมากขึ้น
of materials and their micro climatic concerns. Lastly, the
notion of house as architecture without architect could
also be explored. There are houses built and designed by
the dwellers who live in the house. There are houses built
by local contractors in remote areas where and when
architects are scarce or cannot be there due to personal
constraints. The cultural geography of house, could,
then, be extensively portrayed. The more dynamic range
of ‘house’ in terms of its dwelling conditions rather than
its form-oriented design criteria provides the research
with more extensive framework on architectural design
for the research to be engaged with.
